Something happened to my ME2 achivements on my GT. On xbox.com it says I have 39/62 yet it says I didn't do some of the required things or that I played certain DLC and they are greyed out. Ok so I recently played through ME2 again to have everyone survive and did so and I checked my achivements afterwards on the actual xbox dashboard because it said I re-earned some of the ones I already got on launch.

It now says I have 79/62 achivements for Mass effect 2. I have no idea what made this game glitch out and say I have more than the game has AND that I didn't unlock some. It didn't give me anymore gamerscore for ones I re got but I'm just worried about them not registering for ME3. On the In-game achivement list in the commanders cabin it says I have the ones I have for the most part. It'll show I did 5/5 virtial training but it's stilled greyed out. I could care less about Gamerscore I'm just worrying about them not registering for ME3 when I import my save. I have not ever recovered my account if that could cause this.

Seeing that ME3 is still a ways off anything at this point would be speculation at best.

However, why would ME2 achievements affect anything in ME3? No achievement in ME affected things in ME2 after all.

I would guess all ME3 would care about is the integrity of the save file you choose to use to import into the game. As long as there aren't any problems there I don't see a need to worry about the achievements. Now...whether you want the achievements in ME2 to be correct is a slightly different issue to what appears to me your main concern.

Ah ok I wasn't sure if they go off achievements or not. I thought they gave a bonus in ME2 for ME1. Thanks for letting me know. Only concern was ME3

I can see where you're coming from on that, and there is some truth in that.

The thought that achievements show that a certain situation has been completed or attained in a game is a record of that state of affairs when not playing the game (the Gamerscore and achievements).

I personally don't believe ME3 would use the achievements to give you bonuses (like ME2 does when importing ME into it); and is likely to go by the save file anyway. Besides, the achievements are also indiscriminate as to which character they are attached to. That's my guess anyway.

Having 'said' that though, your situation with the achievements does sound like it's in a mess. Have you removed any dlc modules from the game? Anything in particular you are aware of that may have had an influence? There are only two things I think that might help, though not necessarily solve, the situation: Gamertag recovery (though one should be careful when you do this as it could be possible to lose data), and clearing the cache (might become corrupted though doubtful in this case).

Maybe it was the Ceberus card that messed it up because when I actually bought ME2 (Having rented it) it seemed to happen after that because Zaeeds loyalty is one of the things I always do and I don't have it highlighted. I honestly do not know what could of happened to cause this. I tried looking it up and only ever see something resembling it on PC. I'm thinking of contacting microsoft about this and maybe they can fix it. As long as my choices carry over I could care less about a bonus power or something

Very strange indeed.

I've heard rumblings that achievements have disappeared for the PC versions of some of the games, though I don't recall them being ME2 (they might be). The closest to an achievement problem on the 360 I have read tend to be those that are bugged and difficult to obtain (quite a few on DAO for example); there's something about ME which suggests that the achievement don't unlock properly either, but for achievements to bounce about like the situation you describe is certainly something I have yet to come across. Thus I have no suggestions as to the way of a fix.
