- I bought DA.O as a direct download for pc 29.99 basic version figured if I liked the game I'd get expansions later.I have a ps3 but would've had to wait 2 weeks longer to play the game and the price would be at least another 20.00. It's a very enjoyable game and I decided to get Warden's Keep for the practical reason of being able to store stuff I partly guessed I shouldn't sell.Kind of a rip off really I thought. So here is my point, exploit the trap quest in Lothering make a ton of money there and don't waste real money on any more silly expansions!

It's all about the money!

O___o`
Congratulations, I'm flabbergasted. After further examination, I have come to the conclusion that you mean none of the extras that come with other versions of the game are worth getting…right? I disagree. I like my extra disc with bonus features and I like my Shale and I like my map. To each their own though, and I'm happy you like the game itself.

Heart of winter was a good expansion to Icewind Dale, NWN 1 and 2 had good expansions but the extra stuff with this game are just sidequests that the unwary sometimes cash strapped gamer should be made aware are marketed, too cleverly,so it feels like you have to have them even before you play the game.

I'm sorry, but did you just imply that it's Bioware's fault that a "cash strapped" gamer lacks the self control to not purchase something they can't afford?

Yeah, I didn't think WK was quite worth the money, but it's not like BioWare came to my house and held a gun to my head.
Caveat emptor, I guess...or excercise some self control.

They haven't released full on NWN-style expansions (ie. entirely new campaigns) because the game's only been out for like 3 weeks. The DLC they're releasing now certainly adds to the overall experience but they're still entirely optional (that includes the chest in Warden's Keep; you can get by just fine without it, although it's certainly nice to have).

cash strapped gamers lack cash not self control, wow didnt think anyone would be jumping to the defence of blatant commercialism, shows what I know.

A company working to turn a profit!?
What madness is this!?
Seriously, learn to budget your money. No one made you buy the DLC except for you.
