So, I downloaded Mass Effect 1 from steam a couple weeks ago, and have been playing successfully for a while now. I'm on a new laptop, but the video card isn't the greatest, so I generally lower the resolution a bit, just so it runs smooth.
I got to the ExoGeni station on Feros, and solved the little puzzle to unhook the claw from the station.
The problem comes when I try to view the cutscene. It invariably works for a little while, then freezes. The audio still seems to work, although I'm not sure it's accurately, I mostly hear ambient background noises.
I can't exit the program, so I have to just turn the computer off, which I'd like to avoid.
I've downloaded the latest patch, and reinstalled the program, but neither one helped. Any suggestions?

Hello there. I am having the exact same problem! I thought maybe it was a glitch so I replayed the mission. Every time the game freezes at the cutscene when I disable the claw. I can still hear background sound and I end up having to shut my computer down. How can I fix this?

Same goes now as it did then. You want answers, you do your part.Moondoggie wrote...

P. S. You need to add your game registration to your profile.
