I know, i'm being a little negative and jumping the gun on this one. However I just don't have the faith in Bioware to bring great closure to one of the more popular elements of this trilogy. Oh i'm sure they'll be a romance scene for each LI, no doubt, but will they deliver the same emotion and quality as Mass Effect 1 did? After ME2 and DA2 i'm highly doubting it at this point.
Anyone else think the romantic scenes will be worse than or on par DAII?

I don't think they can get much worse than ME2 romance scenes. Garrus was the all time low-water mark for Bioware romances. Garrus was so devoid of interaction and substance throughout ME2 that his "calibrating" literally became a meme. Meanwhile his romance scene was probably worked on by numerous designers and the voice actors. Don't spend resources on romances when your companions are devoid of substance. Real substance first, then romances second.

I think that if they turn out to be ''worse'' it will be because of the split effort that had to be put into the many, many love interests that ME3 wound up with, and more yet to come. There is only so much you can do when you have to create a different, distinct romantic situation for over 10+ characters. Especially considering that a bunch of them may or may not appear as cameos, so we will have to see if they resolve it with a, ''You should have a drink with me, in my cabin, a la Lair of the Shadow Broker, yes? And then we can conclude our relationship with some clothed secks and some sweet-talk until we reunite at the game's epilogue."
Mass Effect love scenes were not ''OMAI SO GREAT LOLZ' because they included nudity. They were better than the second game (in most cases, since I think Tali's lovescene in ME2 takes the cake overall) because they were extremely limited in comparison, thus more time to invest in the scenarios.
I don't care about ME3 having hot steamy nude sex or not. I care about proper writing and character development evolving into a romantic link between Shepard and said love interest.
If the writing turns out to be good for at least a majority of the options in ME3, I will be extremely pleased AND surprised, considering the size of the cast. And if such writing can justify hot nude steamy sex-whatever-the-hells, so be it, welcome.

You'll have to excuse people who make assumptions about your threads. Even in your OP you specifically use the terms "Emotion and quality" yet people on these forums are so quick to assume this thread is about sex scenes and nudity. Sex scenes has been a common topic on these forums for a long time, but since that is not what your original post is about it should not be discussed here.
As for quality, I'm all for quality, though I didn't find any ME1 or ME2 romances remotely emotionally compelling. If anything, I thought Raphael's Sbarge's recent thanksgiving voice work as Kaidan was the single most compelling and emotional piece of ME romance content, and I don't think it was even "official" so to speak.

I actually found the TW2 sex scene a bit off-putting (with the elven prostitute) when I watched the video on the internet (haven't played the game, was just casually browsing the internet and remembered how people seem to worship TW's scenes), and a girl I know who's an RPG fanatic said she thought that it was a bit mergh too.
ME1 had it right; if I want porn I should want to go in to Google, not think "oooh lets boot up ME3"
