Da2 did one thing when it came to romances and friendships that actually were really really well done.
They made them more personal feeling. You had to earn them etc, but there felt like their was more control over it you had to start from scratch and pass through the friend phases and such well and got to have those moments to be social one on one that was written in a way if felt more realistic ( by gaming standards anyway)
having other members of the party address the romances ( even when the LI was not there) added more weight to it...like Merril idly talking to..( iforget who) about something and asking if they believed they could ever experience a romance in the way hawke and Isabella do...or when is and mer would talk and in mer would ask isa a question about how her and hawke did something or isa would use " us" as a reference to explain something....
that seemed to give it a lot of weight and felt more like you were doing something....and the very end of the game, at least with isa there was a really nice scene on the last stand that had feeling to it...
they failed when it came to playing out the climax of the romance chase with everyone and bent too far to the " safe" side to appease the unwashed masses and censors.
I'd love me3 to borrow from what DA did right....but then top it off in a way that actually has some impact to it and some weight and make you feel you accomplished something....and the more post climax ability to interact and just " have that moment to connect" ( not meaning sex even just...being with the other) would be nice.
