See, this is the problem. They are making love. Why is that controversial?

Because fornication without holy or legal sacriment/union is the leading cause of genital warts, hairy palms, penis' falling off and spontaneous combustion.

Gratuitous violence is pretty cool though, tbh

Exactly. It is one way. There are many. So why use the most controversional one? Nobody is NOT buying the game because of lack of sex scenes. But people may not buy because it has some. Not saying that I advocate it or anything. Just wondering why would Bioware use sex scenes then? Doesn't make sense on the business level.

Well but some people are religious and stuff. Don't drag me in this kind of discussion. I am not supporting it, just saying that it is so.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time religious... people... are complaining about my entertainment.

I'm looking at you, Witcher II.

And I loved every second of it.

You loved watching some ugly guy with all these scars have sex?

It's ok. I was trying to make you see it with my eyes, if I offended you in some way, I beg your pardon.

The question isn't if it is cheap. The question is why is why is it necessary to be naked or half naked even. Romance works with clothes on. Sex and love is not the same thing anyway. I really think it is not necessary in any game. Not in Witcher, not in DA, not in ME. I mean come on, we are in the internet. Don't people know how to find porn in the internet? It adds nothing to the game, not a thing. Whoever thinks different has a wrong idea of love, romance, etc.

Do you not have sex with your romantic partner? Is it an either or thing for you?

No I don't. Sex is evil.

Sex. Evil? dude what you been smoking?

Why? Want to piece of it? I can hook you up with my dealer.

Ok I have to stop this before I get banned. I was kidding, ok?

This should totally descend into a religious debate thread. We haven't had one of those in ages.

Theres more than just religious people that might take offence.  Making love isn't contoversial.  Doing so in explicit detail on screen in a media form still widely associated with children, at least amongst non-gamers, is.  It would also probably get the game banned in Australia or something.  Not good business

This has been said a million times already: The game is rated M for a reason.

If the parents don't want their stupid children to see a side bood or two, don't buy an M rated game... Man, I hate people. When was the world ending again?

I killed God

Debate.

Leaving jokes aside, why not use the best of all sex scenes for previous games in ME3? The nudity from ME, the uniqueness from ME2, and the pillow talks from DA2

I completely agree on this.  I so want to reach through the internet and punch the parent of a child playing CoD everytime I play online and hear pre-pubescent squealing at the controls.

I know, but M rating or not, there are people who simply don't believe sex should be portrayed outside of a fade to black scene.

I think Lord Aesir's and my point is that sex scenes in games like ME are no selling argument, meaning no one person will decide to buy the game because of it. On the other hand people may NOT buy because the game features them.

It is a simple business logic really. No gain, possible loss. So under marketing aspects you wouldn't put them in. Of course a company can decide to do it anyway for other reasons. Fanservice for example. Or maybe because they think like many people here that if violence is ok, then a rather harmless tasteful sex scene can't be wrong.

Not saying I don't want sexscenes in my game. Just that I understand if Bioware would not have them for business reasons. After all they are running a business.
