Hello all! I hope you're all having a great day! This is my first time posting here, but I've been a big fan of Bioware since way back on the Xbox! :D

Anyway, I have two questions. The first is this: I'm thinking about buying the collector edition of Mass Effect 2 for the PC. Basically, I'd like to know if it wil play well on a Windows 7 version PC?

And secondly, since I'm not going to be playing the first Mass Effect on my PC(don't worry about me missing out on a great experience, guys- I've already played it once on my 360 :) ), can I play the Genesis comic thing before Mass Effect 2, and if so, where do I purchase it?

It would be a great help if you guys and gals could answer my questions. Thanks in advance, and have fun in outer space! :)

As for Genesis, its DLC. You buy it off of this site with bioware points (games link up at the top of the page).

WRONG.

Ignore the bad advice.  That place is just a terrible joke, and anyone naming it as a reference just seems to have offered proof that he / she is just a Noob with little useful help to suggest.

The Genesis DLC only has 6 variables so it's better to just download a file from masseffectsaves.com and maybe change some flags using Gibbed's Save Editor.

If I'm not mistaken the Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition was sold out before the game's launch. I wouldn't trust the cheap ones on eBay as they're probably missing the promo codes.

I'm going to be purchasing a brand new copy of the Collectors Edition for the PC, so will it work for this build of a computer? Also, where do I get Bioware points or whatever to purchase the Genesis DLC? Can't I just purchase it with regular money??

Thanks for all your help so far everyone, it is appreciated! :)

There are forums on site both for the Bioware Store and the Bioware Points where you can ask the last couple of questions. Personally, I can't help you with those. The HD 5670 is an excellent "Bang for the Buck" graphics card giving the best frames per dollar for its generation. You'll be very happy with your system's performance in this game.

I see that very typically for a Vista / Windows 7 users, you have a huge excess of background processes and programs loading into the Page File. While gaming, you should endeavor to lower that to a single GB's worth, not three GBs.

Look for a tutorial online describing how to do that.

I've used that GPU to play ME2 on a system I built for a family member and at most resolutions you'll be able to max out settings and get great performance. Averaging at 40-60fps. ME2 isn't too demanding so with any half decent mid range card like the 5670 you'll be fine.

I can't say enough good things about the 5670 really. Considering what i paid for it the joy said family member gets from being able to enjoy quality gaming is pretty remarkable.

Yep, you should do just fine with the 5670.  I put it in my brothers' PC and it works great.  It's certainly not the best card out there -- there are quite a few games that will bring the 5670 to its knees, but Mass Effect 2 is not one of them.  Don't hesitate to buy ME2 for the PC, you should have any problems.  And if you do, you can always come here for help. ;)

As for the Genesis DLC, when you go to purchase it through the website, if you have no BioWare points in your account it will give you the option to add points.  You can't pay directly with money.  It's annoying, I know. Honestly though, I don't really think the Genesis comic is worth it.  It only allows you to change 6 variables from Mass Effect 1.  Buying Mass Effect 1, especially if you can catch it on sale, would be a much better use of your money.  You can grab it on Amazon for $12.32 from Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.co...6871275-8140254

For an optimal experience you may want to play at a somewhat smaller resolution, but I used to have a slower GPU and it would usually stay over 30 fps at 1920x1080 during normal gameplay.
