I've been looking ALL OVER the internet and this forum over the past two months for a solution to this.
Every time I load ME2 I get the infamous message:

"One or more career(s) are corrupt. Would you like to delete...?" blah, blah, etc, etc... <_<

The 25 Steps of My Quest to Fix The Career of Piker Shepard:
[spoiler: I lose]
  • Completed and Enjoyed ME1
  • Completed and Enjoyed ME2
  • Recieved NEW Xbox 360 S Console
  • Took out OLD Xbox 360 S HD
  • Took out NEW Xbox 360 S HD
  • Put OLD Xbox HD into NEW Xbox Console
  • Loaded up several games to check for save success
  • Success!
  • Loaded up Mass Effect 2
  • Error Message!
  • Swaped back NEW and OLD HD's
  • Loaded up Mass Effect 2 on OLD Xbox with OLD HD
  • Success?
  • Swaped back again
  • Loaded ME2 on NEW Console with OLD HD
  • Error Message!?
  • Repeated steps 11 - 16 [several times] with re-saving attempts, MU usage, and other trials
  • Tranfered Purchase Licenses through Xbox.com from OLD Xbox to NEW Xbox
  • Sent away OLD Xbox 360 S Console to Microsoft
  • Researched solution online (x300)
  • Attempted to load ME2 career periodically on NEW Xbox with OLD HD (x300)
  • Waited for Dashboad Update on December 6th, 2011 (that's today!) for Cloud Storage support
  • Attemted to utilize Cloud Storage for ME2 career save
  • Error Message!
  • Typed these very words that your reading
:o

I'm trying to refrain from modding the save's console ID tag (as I have established that to be the problem) but my options are looking narrow, as I still had plenty of planets to explore and purchased DLC to play before ME3 and plan on doing it without having to replay ME1 or ME2. But I'd rather not risk Microsoft catching me [somehow] and ruining my online gaming expirience.
So if anyone has any insight on what to do next on my quest, please help me.

Thank you.

That's a very thorough account you've presented there, and as such you must be commended with providing all that detail. Seriously.

I assume step 18 above is equivalent to the content license transfer? Usually that should solve most of these types of problems. If it is there isn't much else to really add.

One question I do have, despite your very thorough account, is whether you are playing online or offline? I ask because you haven't mentioned recovering your Gamertag which can also be a factor. From your account I am inclined to think you're gaming offline; if you're online then something odd is going on. I suggest you go online with your Gamertag first, then log out before recovering it. That's really all I can think of.

Next to last resort would be to download the dlcs again (I suggest this as content licenses really only apply to online purchases of dlcs and games) to see if that helps.

Absolute last resort: EA support and hope someone can help you.

Thanks for the response (very much), I was afraid my "throughouness" would scare peoples eyes away.
But, yeah I'm playing on an online account and by "Transfer Purchase Licences" I do mean the "Content Licence Transfer", which entailed re-downloading most of my online purchases, including all ME2 DLC.
And I've recovered my gamer tag onto the new console before, so really I think it has to do with the save locking itself to a certain ID tag; the career file always worked on my old console only, even when switching back and forth with an MU. And, through researching, that seems to be something other people have often experienced.
And the last resort? Haha. Totally forgot about that...

My Quest to Fix The Career of Piker Shepard 2: The Lost Step!

Step 21 and a Half:
  • Ask EA Online Support for Insight
  • Wait for a Promised 24 hours
  • Get a Response in a Week
  • Get Absolutely No Useful Information
  • Try Again
  • Wait a Few Days
  • Get, Once Again, Nothing Useful or Pertaining to the Issue
  • Respond Again.
  • Wait Again
  • The End

I'm going to try to recover my gamertag and redownload the DLC's again, just to be safe (after yesterday's update maybe results will be different), but thanks for the insight, seriously. Much better than no response at all
:D

Given the information I've seen regarding gamers' experience of EA support....that pretty much sums up the typical case. I am led to believe that they do have good support personnel so it seems to be a matter of luck whether you get the right person to help you.

If you've already performed the content license transfer and recovering your Gamertag that already covers the basics of what you should have to do. The only other thing I can think of, which is a long shot so is highly unlikely, is check your EA account to see if your accounts are correctly linked.

I checked, no result.
However, my problem is fixed for now. I had to resort to modding. I changed the ID's on the save and now it works fine, as suspected.
I just really hope this doesn't backfire when importing into ME3... That would suck.

But thank you for your help. Much appreciated.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't.
