After now seeing Joker purge the Normady of the collectors multiple times, I can't help but get the feeling that somehow the Tantilus may have acted as kind of a "Effect Field Chemo". Joker did say he felt worse after the exposure, but having seen how real chemo works first hand, you get worse before you can get better.
