Some ideas for DA3 (weapon, horse, dragon/griffin, navy)

I some some idea that i wish to see in DA3

1. Variety of weapon choises and combat style

- spear (spear only and spear + shield like Spartan men)
- javelin (like Roman javelin throwing with shield, javelins are stored behind the shield)
- staff (as in Shaolin fighting)
- musket (alternative for bow and crossbow)
- pistol (single pistol or two pistol)

2. Horse riding

- sure knights ride horses, Ferelden army don't have cavalry? It is nice to see in DA3
- jousting is nice as a mini game for money and prizes
- horse racing also nice too

3. Dragon/Griffin riding

- it is nice to have air combat riding dragons or griffins
- could make an air strike campaign or missions invoilving finding a city floating in the air or something
- alternatively, a magical flying ship or balloon

4. Naval war

- fighting on a ship
- becoming a captain of a ship or something
- or maybe a mini game, comanding canons
- campaign involving finding treasure or underwater city

5. Turning point

- have a turning point to become good or evil

Personally I don't see horses as practical when you are adventuring through abandoned ruins, the deep roads, or a mages tower. Horses should probably be seen as they are mentioned a lot, by I don't think Horseback combat other than what open battlefield combat. Calvary is useful, but not in difficult terrain, where they can actually be a detriment. Horses are used in games to hurry travel over open maps usually, and in dragon age, your method of travel is usually fast travel, so I doubt they would get much use.

Hopefully extensive lore for flying/underwater city and not something bioware just says "We haven't explained these cities before, but just deal with it lol"

Griffon and dragonback, I'm kind of opposed to this. You'd think if anyone had any aerial presence in Ferelden and its bordering countries, that you would have heard of it before this. Griffon's were used, but they died out. If there was some sort of aerial presence in the world, it would have been mentioned before now. So I'm disagreeing for lore reasons and my friend sitting next to me says it sounds like WoW where you bomb opposing factions on flying mounts.

Naval I'm kind of meh on. Pirates are cool, but as I've said before, Dragon Age isn't a open world map. And I'm confused where captaining your ship would come into play in a world that isn't hugely open. Also, unless a game revolves around ships and naval battles, things like this usually fall on their face and get neglected by the main game. I'm sticking to the "More story, less minigames, because Bioware makes awesome story lines"

I like the turning point and extra fighting styles. No reason not too.

I am pretty happy with DAO as it is. If Bioware wants to develop other games that incorporate new elements of battle, sure, I would gladly have a look at those.

Oblivion had some horse riding in it. I didn't find that particularly interesting, and on the PC platform it was very difficult to control the horse. Getting on and off the horse to fight a wolf or bear or whatever was awkward, and generally it was not a very appealing element of the game. So most of the time I just ran around on foot. Easier to do and pretty much as fast.

However, Ego Draconis had some flight elements that I did enjoy. After I got the hand of how to control the dragon in flight and morph back and forth between alter egos, it was probably the best part of that game. The entire game was pretty much developed around that feature. Not much of a storyline to support it, though. And not a game that I ever felt a need to replay.

DAO has a compelling story, and it would be sad to see that part of the game sacrificed in a quest for gimmicky fight elements. It is a reasonably straightforward task to build characters in DAO. In some games it is a gamble in the dark. I don't mind difficult battles, but when the way characters need to be built is a mystery too deep to fathom -- the game soon loses interest.

Perhaps games that lack interesting stories attempt to offset that shortcoming by throwing in gimmicks that (for the player) have a short-lived appeal, and by designing the character builds in ways that are excessively difficult to understand.

Of course we don't bring horses while exploring ruins, we are not always exploring ruins anyway, Deep Roads are large for horse traveling in my opinion, only certain places there horses can't fit in. In Ostagar, it is open field combat until reaching the tower. The same at Brecilian Forest, until reaching the ruin. And also bandits and monsters who made roadblocks.

Every games are like that if there are sequels, always something new that have not being explained before, so live with it lol.

Well, like i said above, there must be something new, example, someone make use of dragons to attack people, a mage for example, or Archdemon appears to having a family....for sure dragons have eggs right? And if dragon have egss for sure they have families, have papa and mama dragon...Archdemon is a dragon, so Archdemon also have papa and mama Archdemon...Griffons died out but sure there are some in somewhere...

Make a plot, the scene is on a ship traveling somewhere, and the pirate attacks. Well if darkspawns have their own metal smith making armors and weapons, why they can't built ships? Sure they have the technology. Where they find woods in the Deep Road to make bow and crossbows anyway? So, they must be intelligent creature and not mindless. I always wonder how they made armors and weapons....

I love mini games like in KoTOR, Pazak card, swoop riding....DAO lack mini games :(
