What would really satisfy me in regards to the series is an ME3 built off an ME2 that wasn't written. Can't imagine how badly I want a do-over in this regard.

Every middle entry is "filler". Unless it's a series that switches all antagonists with each entry you can't get enough answers about the main one or you walk into the final entry knowing too much, while at the same time giving you enough so you don't feel the whole thing was an exercise in futility(imo, that lies in Arrival, along with Harby's specs you picked up after the SM). ME1 on the other hand needed to set you up with a satisfying conclusion to it's story in case it didn't get a sequel.crimzontearz wrote...

A story at least on par with ME1, in other words significantly better than ME2.
ME2 suffered from Middle Entry Syndrome.
no, it suffered from "we need a filler" syndrome

ME3 has to have GMagnum and his special power Ghetto Gat for ME3 to actually be great.
A wish like that would make even the BioWare's writing team keel over.
"so eye wuz liek Tahlee u gotuh doo duh pill grimuge den wee snuu snuu can eye grahb yo butcheeeeeeeeek tbh"
Yeah.....I'm gonna say no.

I'm not going to reveal any specifics, but in the leaked script there is at least one drinking scene with one of your squadmates.Sigyn2011 wrote...
Social drinking if fellow crew members and squad members go to a bar (or if the Normandy has one).

-a nice DA:O / Fallout New Vegas style epilogue that plays before the credits
-Faunts during credits, non-negotiable
-successful meshing of TPS and RPG (seemed to have been achieved)
-hard choices that matter
-scenes with multiple squadmates interacting, similar to the very begining of the SM where there was debate over who leads the fireteam.

Sadly, it looks like the quality of ME3 is on track to make ME2 look like a great game. So far each announcement has been a steady chain of "Ideas that should never have made it off of a sticky note" to "Ideas that should never have even been put on a sticky note".

how about RPG-consistent enemies?
seriously, I'm sick and tired of the serie upgrading encounter-specific difficulty like a regular shooter would

Also I want closure... end this game as a simple tool to set up the next game I'll bloody storm the Bioware offices.

2) consequences
3) 40+hour story, not including MP or DLC
4) a satisfying conclusion to everything, but especially with VS romance.
5) A decent outfit for Ash. (hint, not that blue outfit)
6) Exploration of some sort
7) Actual roleplaying opportunities that do not involve running down corridors killing stuff.

- Actual consequences that have meaning from prior decisions. This means no weak substitutions that cheapen the characters, no sweeping things that should have a big impact under the rug or trivialising them so they don't and vastly different circumstances in at least a few cases instead of the same meat with just a slightly different flavour sauce.
- Proper outfits for every squadmate that suit both battle and exploration. No more catsuits, holes and nipple-straps, at least not on battle gear.
- Decent RPG elements and customisation. No more God-modding, linear progression systems.
- Non-combat skills in some way.
- Squad banter and more interactions and dialogue, not just with Shepard but with each other.
- Decent exploration and sidequests with proper integration.
- Branching and/or more open levels that feel epic.
- More 70's/80's classic sci-fi, less modern Hollywood action film.
- No more of the self-feeding Paragon/Renegade meter, ala ME2.
- Armour that actually protects.
- I never want to feel that the game is lacking and unpolished anywhere, and that Kinect and MP additions resources could have better gone somewhere else.
- At least a few vehicle sections (but not The Hammerhead) in the vanilla game.
- More ways to solve missions. More Noveria style places and missions.
- Michael Beattie voicing Dr. Mordin Solus.
- More care given to the differences between Male and Female Shepard than before.
- A more meaningful XP system that doesn't feel manufactured and hollow. Context and rewarded based on effort instead of set lump sums.
- No more babying me as a player. No more big baby interfaces and condescending messages that treat me like I've never played an RPG before. No more "Mission Complete" screens and giant pop-ups.
- To feel more like an experience and less like a game.
- A far better HUD than ME2's. Something more like ME1's (no heads and silly bars).
- I never want to feel that melee is a necessity.
- More challenging, but not more frustrating.
- A decent explanation for "Anderson as Councilor" import players for the retcon.
- No deus ex machina ending. No simply ripping off B5 with The Shadows' ending.
- Shiala:wub:
- No over-explaining the Reapers.
- No showing us what the quarians look like. I prefer the mystery to remain.
