I'm quite positive we'll see that as well.

Me too.

Okay, if there's one thing it absolutely must have (besides the things that I'm already excited about) it's either no vehicle levels or a few where the vehicle doesn't blow ass.

The planets I drove the Mako on didn't fit it at all and the Paperhead explodes if you so as much as look at it the wrong way.

I have to agree with most of what Terror K says.

Good Story and many choices
Our choices in ME1 and ME2 should matter
Garrus as a permanent squadmate
More customization for Shepard's armor, bring back the old ME1 heavy armor and Squad Armor customization
RPG elements should be more significant

Thats about it, most of those are probably already there.

If I had to pick one thing, I'd say let Shepard be the star of the show again. I felt s/he was practically designated to sidekick in ME2. Don't get me wrong, the ME2 characters were great. I loved them, but they came w/ a price.

And bonus points for finally tying that Sole Survivor/Cerberus loose end.

This may be shooting for the moon or asking for the stars, but if Shepard is a biotic and/or his/her LI is also one, put their powers to use in the romantic scenes!

Well...

Actual consequences that have meaning from prior decisions. This means no weak substitutions that cheapen the characters, no sweeping things that should have a big impact under the rug or trivialising them so they don't and vastly different circumstances in at least a few cases instead of the same meat with just a slightly different flavour sauce.

Proper outfits for every squadmate that suit both battle and exploration. No more catsuits, holes and nipple-straps, at least not on battle gear.

Decent RPG elements and customisation. No more God-modding, linear progression systems.

Squad banter and more interactions and dialogue, not just with Shepard but with each other.

Decent exploration and sidequests with proper integration.

Branching and/or more open levels that feel epic.

Armour that actually protects.

At least a few vehicle sections (but not The Hammerhead) in the vanilla game.

More ways to solve missions. More Noveria style places and missions.

More care given to the differences between Male and Female Shepard than before.

A more meaningful XP system that doesn't feel manufactured and hollow. Context and rewarded based on effort instead of set lump sums.

A far better HUD than ME2's. Something more like ME1's (no heads and silly bars).

I never want to feel that melee is a necessity.

More challenging, but not more frustrating.

A decent explanation for "Anderson as Councilor" import players for the retcon.

No deus ex machina ending. No simply ripping off B5 with The Shadows' ending.

No over-explaining the Reapers.

Those, at least.

The squadmate outfits will bring some bonuses, you'll be able to choose from six different evolutions for your powers and weapon customization is providing some pretty interesting mods, most side missions will be a result of a certain event in another mission, there are several ways to solve a mission even if you do screw things up, they tweeted not long ago that femShep will be given some new and subtle animations, melee isn't a necessity unless you're completely out of ammo, with enemies like the Phantom and some that are dropping smoke grenades so you can't lock on them, it'll be more challenging, the health system for Shepard has improved so you have bars that can only be brought back with medi-gel once they're depleted, Anderson quit his job for a reason, there is no deus ex machina and I think the Reapers are explained enough.

There.

@someonewithmass did you read the leaks? there's one thing you just discussed that isn't entirely accurate, however I'm not going to point it specifically out

Truthfully, I'm already satisfied with what I've seen so far. Slap on some splitscreen multiplayer and I'll be jumping for joy.

Choices that aren't easy (ie, can't rely on the blue button for best outcome... actually have to think to save the most lives, etc. Having that alone would squash most Paragon vs Renegade/Neutral debates... as each would have strengths at the cost of something else.)

Local co-op/split-screen multiplayer (I don't have Gold, so that multiplayer mode is useless to me)

A story that's not rushed or light on content and addresses all questions raised by the series.

Renegade/Neutral players get to actually see the Council.

Renegade/Neutral players get a legitimate/realistic transition from ME2's ending to Cerberus being the enemy.

class-specific abilities deployed during cutscenes (ie, Vanguard charge by Shepard during a cutscene for Vanguards).

  • Proper outfits for every squadmate that suit both battle and exploration. No more catsuits, holes and nipple-straps, at least not on battle gear.
  • Decent RPG elements and customisation. No more God-modding, linear progression systems.
  • Non-combat skills in some way.
  • Squad banter and more interactions and dialogue, not just with Shepard but with each other.
  • Decent exploration and sidequests with proper integration.
  • Branching and/or more open levels that feel epic.
  • More 70's/80's classic sci-fi, less modern Hollywood action film.
  • No more of the self-feeding Paragon/Renegade meter, ala ME2.
  • Armour that actually protects.
  • I never want to feel that the game is lacking and unpolished anywhere, and that Kinect and MP additions resources could have better gone somewhere else.
  • At least a few vehicle sections (but not The Hammerhead) in the vanilla game.
  • More ways to solve missions. More Noveria style places and missions.
  • Michael Beattie voicing Dr. Mordin Solus.
  • More care given to the differences between Male and Female Shepard than before.
  • A more meaningful XP system that doesn't feel manufactured and hollow. Context and rewarded based on effort instead of set lump sums.
  • No more babying me as a player. No more big baby interfaces and condescending messages that treat me like I've never played an RPG before. No more "Mission Complete" screens and giant pop-ups.
  • To feel more like an experience and less like a game.
  • A far better HUD than ME2's. Something more like ME1's (no heads and silly bars).
  • I never want to feel that melee is a necessity.
  • More challenging, but not more frustrating.
  • A decent explanation for "Anderson as Councilor" import players for the retcon.
  • No deus ex machina ending. No simply ripping off B5 with The Shadows' ending.
  • Shiala:wub:
  • No over-explaining the Reapers.
  • No showing us what the quarians look like. I prefer the mystery to remain.

Underlined the ones that are in. Can't say 100% sure, though.

A variety of options to defeat the Reapers, and not just spending the whole game looking for, or building some device that will control/destroy/whatever the Reapers with a press of a button.

Also being able to keep playing and finish off side missions after the main plot is over with, and post ending DLC later, like ME 2 did.

Other than that, I'd be sad if we didn't get a couple of the ME 2 squadies as some of the more permanent squadmates. And yes, I know 'no ones permanent', but I've never understood why Bioware act as if that's a GOOD thing.

Absolutely necessary:
  • Decent ending to Reapers' story arc. Not trivializing the threat, no DEM, no "Reapers off" button, and please, satisfying explanation to who Reapers are and what they want or lack thereof.
Would very strongly like to:
  • Not to see Mary Sues in my game
  • Characters staying in character and getting plot relevant where you suppose them to be plot relevant
  • Grey tones of actions, organisations and decisions, not just black and white
  • Decisions from first game really matter (not "two paths leading to same result)
  • Paragon =/= autowin, Renegade =/= automatic worse situation
  • Decent amount of dialogues for both Friendship and Romance paths
  • Endings that aren't copy-pasted, no "WTF?" epilogues ("Shepard left after several years, leaving everything and LI behind")
Pleasant cosmetic things:
  • Several variants of armor and casual outfits for squadmates, at least one of armors should be practical considering the character it's applied (I don't want Vega-like armor for, for example, Kasumi, but Ashley should have at least one fully covering armor)
  • More party banter than in both previous games (hint: look at DA2 for it)
  • More open areas
  • The more number of weapons and the more diverse its effect the merrier
  • Weapons in cutscenes correlating to what Shepard and squadmates can equip
  • I prefer talking to heads, not asses
  • Adequate sidequests (not "Oh noes I've lost trinket in the middle of galactic war!")
  • revealed!alien-looking!quarians

-Actual need of tactics
-Good order system to carry on my brilliant plans of 3-way flanking and suppression fire
-Improved AI and morale system for some enemies, they are incredibly dumb.
-Absence of Shep overpowering any resistance with blue/red phrase. This is a bad mechanic.
-At least SOME plot, unlike ME2's madness.
-Shep not being the center of galaxy, which is inda irritating.

Actual impacts from both previous choices and choices made in ME3.

Apart from that, everything I want I've seen to some extent in ME3's marketing.

- Closure of the story without involving a Deus Ex Machina
- Closure for all squadmates. No sidelining please.
- Closure of fate for any races (even those without or getting hit early - Batarians for example)
- An awesome finale - large space battle with personal involvement of Shepard and his/her crew
- Decisions, decisions, decisions. And no easy ones.
- Emotional moments for Shepard and his/her crew.
- A really deep and touching relationship.
- An epilogue where Shep can do last decisions (marry me - I need time - go away!!!) ^^
- Blue children for Liara fans, human children for VF fans (depending on decision)
- Less derpy Shepard moments
- More classy antique shops for Garrus
- Tali & other Quarians revealed (Tali naked on cover of Fornax magazine anyone?)
- Awesome and justifying actions of the VS
- TIME!
- Squad banter
- A LIVING crew: moving, walking, talking. Not fixed to one spot.
- Sex. At least the first two steps before things get more serious. ME1 style.
