could you elaborate the details? Like, is this after her barn burns down, or her house burns down? What area are ya in? Her farmyard? Found the buried treasure?
esp. what does the Happy Returns journal entry say???

Thank you for the reply, should have provided more details. It is after her house burns down. I'm at her farm and haven't found the buried treasure.
As for the journal:
The last living descendant of Ammon Jerro is a woman named Shandra - the same woman you encountered back in Highcliff. The githyanki are also looking for her. You must get to Shandra before they do.

When you come out of the house, there are some giths to kill, then Shandra should say ".... you go your way and I'll go mine." Has that happened?
She then walks away and gets attacked by more giths. After dispatching them, Shandra should say "... I guess I should have stayed with you after all." Has that happened yet?
If you're on your first playthrough, here's a couple hints. Don't bother looking for the treasure, you can't find it yet. Get your inventory in order and make a new save before you talk to Shandra/run the script because you're about to go on an extended remote-controlled ride.

so ya, what I_Raps said .g.
Have you fought any giths since leaving the burning house? There are two waves
1) immediately getting out of the house (fight)
2) after Shandra tries to run away (fight)
Have you done either or both of those: perhaps i should ask, What's the last thing Shandra says??
Ps. here's the walkthrough (w/Pics!)

Blast! Sorry for being so vague, and I thank you for the reply.
Nothing you mentioned hasn't happened yet. I dispatched the first wave that sets upon you right after leaving the house. After that she says nothing, doing "covering in fear" animation. Maybe I should mention she's missing about a quarter of health, while her status says she's uninjured.

Greetings! Fought only after leaving the house. And the last thing Shandra says is: "Looks like those things are trying to smoke us out. Well, it worked. Let's get out of here before this place collapses."

I'm going to assume this gamestate: you've just left the burning house through the backdoor, Shandra is standing there and nothing happens. Her last meaningful dialog was, "Looks like those things are trying to smoke us out." (still inside the house) run la console (outside):
`
DebugMode 1
rs ga_global_int("16_spawn_sh_gith", "1")
rs ga_load_mod("1600_Githyanki_Caves", "wp_1610_fakeint")
DebugMode 0

It works!
Thank you good sir!

Hi, not to thread necro, but this is the EXACT problem I have, so I didn't want to make a new thread for it. Sequence of events from inside the house to the hangup:
- Shandra says " ...trying to smoke us out..." and runs out the door.
- We follow her out the door and fight the first group of Githyanki waiting outside.
- *There is a cut to a blackscreen which lasts for around 7 seconds.*
- The scene reappears with us all standing there at the door, including Shandra.
And that's where things stop. At this point, she is conversable, but only says "Something you need?", and after that, she also often cowers in place. Her health is at around 70% but her status on mouseover is "uninjured".
I have tried the debug mode commands proposed by kevL with no luck - the scene reloads as if we just stepped out of the house and the events repeat exactly as described above. When i run the first command I get the confirmation that the script executed, and the second command obviously works ![]()
This version is the GoG Complete version. I have removed all mods except for the OC Soz Makeover (because it's a bit of a pain to take out), the TCC + MoTB Patch/Rebalance (because it shouldn't make a diff to this?) and TonyK's AI 2.2. I made a clean save and tried it repeatedly.
Is there any way to perhaps set things 1 step ahead of where they are, so we are past the 7-second black screen? Or might there be a fix for that dialogue failure (if such it is)?
Thanks in advance for any help!

oh man, i think you really borked it Lol
What happens if you just, like, set the global_int (above) to 2 and leave the area? I mean, i really can't see anything in the toolset that sets a journal entry or advances the plot mechanic ...

No luck :\ I have played from a save an hour back and the same thing happens. I checked around in debug mode and there wasn't a trigger on the ground for conversations that I could see, so this might be all about Shandra's status. I am a bit boggled that there isn't a simple "quest stage complete" flag that can be set, you'd think that's how every game would do it.
Thanks for the attempted help!

try this
rs ga_local_int("GithWave1Done", "1", "$MODULE")
it might let a dialog fire up on the heartbeat ...

It could have been done as you suggest -- just setting a quest stage as complete. Especially since that particular situation is mandatory for the main quest. It would be interesting for me to hear some developer insight as to why they did some things the way they did in this campaign.

having looked at a lot of this stuff I get the impression it was done in great haste, compare for example the Shandra scripts with Mysteries of WestGate or SoZ, or even MotB and there's no doubt in my mind that there was some sort of a scramble going on. Variable name conventions are pretty much nonexistent, some NPC names are different in the scripts than they are in the game and flit back and forth - general confusion reigns. It's like person-A wrote some code, person-B ran it and it worked, then they looked at each other with worrisome expressions and said "right. next. deadline Friday."
There's what appears to be an unused copy of Shandra standing out on the edge of the area. It's like they were either planning to use her for something, or more likely had used her for something that got superceded and they stuck her out there just in case they wanted her back. Yet there she is in the alpha-released version. This is common in the OC.

Totally worked! Thank you, I couldn't have gotten past this bug without this.
From the syntax, it looks like GithWave1Done tells the game engine an event has concluded. I would guess you could do that for any event in any area, which might be a good way to skip over bugged points like this. Would you know if there's a list of those commands for the OC, or a way to create one from the toolset?
Thanks again for your help! It's off to Luskan with Bishop now ![]()

the entire game can be played from the console, but i don't think that's what you meant ... so, no. ( instead, Google these forums )
that is, there is definitely NOT a structure of
set local int "foobarDone"

I don't know if the OC Makeover is specifically at fault in this case, but one thing when using it to keep in mind is that if you are controlling a party member other than your main PC at the time that a battle ends then it is possible that any automated conversation that is supposed to fire after the battle may not initiate properly. The OC scripts assume that only the main PC can converse and the Makeover changes that. Obviously most battles do not end with automatic conversations, but if you do have this problem I suggest you replay the battle and make sure you are controlling your main PC at the end and see if that resolves the issue.
