Sounds like the issue is something in your overall system, especially if it just stopped working well and reinstallation does not help anything. Obviously it was working at some time, so something changed all of a sudden.

Perhaps some virus or trojan got installed. ( any issues in other games which are more demanding )

Did you try installing any new custom content or playing a new module. You might still have the items in your player folder when you reinstalled. Try renaming the "neverwinter nights 2" folder in my documents and let it recreate it, and see if it works better in something like the OC. ( you can rename it back later )

Yeah its a pretty strange problem, other games with higher performance needs work fine (Skyrim for example) still work fine strangely, i haven't noticed any changes with them

I tried renaming the folder in the my documents, but i still have the same problem.

I was playing online with my friends on the Storm of Zehir module before this problem arose, but that was also running fine for several weeks before the lag started happening

Any chance you've got a bunch of crap running in the background that's siphoning off your system resources?

Have you recently updated any graphics card drivers? Perhaps a new update isn't playing well with NWN2.

I'm also experiencing a massive drop in frame-rate from the last time I played (several months ago), when the game ran smooth as silk. I've not installed anything unusual, and haven't touched the game since last time, but suddenly it's running poorly.

I can't think of any reason why this would be.

Possibly windows update is automatically updating some drivers. It may be worth a check to see when your graphics card drivers were last updated.
