Uhh, actually, Shepard didn't tell anything.
But that's just my opinion. He was acting ... "odd" ... to use a polite word. Dumb fits better regarding the available choices in that particular scene.

Therefore:

Talk. I prefer talking about the situation. I bet both will understand. They're grown ups after all ... :innocent:

Agreed! I felt like Shepard could have said way more! Shep was kinda complacent... I dunno just my opinion. 

I mean the whole slap idea came to me after I thought about the option to punch that annoying reporter lady.

I think that comes under the "What were we thinking" banner.  There's probably a lot of that.  Anyway, you should try the "slap Morrigan" mod for DA:O.  It's hilarious ... mostly because she slaps back.

It depends on if they were romanced or not. If the weren't romanced they're simply mad/disappointed. If they were romanced than they're almost hostile towards Shepard.

Here one asks for the opportunity to hit a person he likes just over a disagreement, and I can't count the number of people on other topics practically begging for the opportunity to murder the squadmates they dislike.

I blame the writer who came up with the idea to punch a woman in the face just for being annoying!

Also: you expect from Ashley to be straight forward. Kaidan was the more polite one of both. Seeing him lashing out against Shepard feels far more opposite than an Ashley that does the same.

Besides: I believe Ash does not shout when angry. Guess she's more the type of woman that lowers her voice when really p*ssed off. Makes her far more dangerous imo.

@Dragon: yeah, the Horizon Incident is a huge can of worms. It's been a sore point for a loooonnnngg time. That 2 minute cameo provoked alot of emotion; and flaming war threads both for and against Ash/Kaidan.

That and some of the language and body tone that they used does have some distinct differences that shows Ashley to be a bit more concerned for Shepard while Kaiden comes off as more dismissive and antagonistic to Shepard (note that these are non-romanced character dialogues, so some things may be different with a romanced VS):


Ashley: "I'd like to believe you Shepard, but I don't trust Cerberus. And it worries me that you do. What did they do to you? What if they're behind it? What if they're the ones working with the Collectors?"
VS
Kaiden: "I want to believe you Shepard, but I don't trust Cerberus. They could be using the threat of a Reaper to manipulate you. What if they're behind it? What if they're the ones working with the Collectors?"


Ashley: "Or maybe you feel like you owe Cerberus because they saved you. Maybe it's you. Doesn't matter... I still know where my loyalties lie. I'm an Alliance soldier, it's in my blood. (2-3 second pause where she stares at Shepard with a concerned look) I'm reporting back to the Citadel. I'll let them decide if they believe your story.
