oh look. This thread again.... ...let me cover what's going to be said in this thread and save you some time. Ash and Kaidan were justified in being surprised and upset but gave bullsh!t reasons for being pissed and Shep gave bullsh!t responses for explaining. They are both at fault.

This again, people always see Shepard as the center of the universe cos (s)he is so "awesome"  they can't handle some one disagreeing with them, I never liked Cerberus and had to end up defending them, there was no wat to tell the VS that SHepard took no pleasure inn working with them, good one to who ever wrote the Horizon scene

Anderson also disagrees with Shepard's decision to work with Cerberus, and he also doesn't fully trust Shepard, and he doesn't the hate that Kaidan and Ashley do. Go compare how Anderson handles Shepard's return and how A/K handle Shepard return and you'll see why they get so much hate.

It has nothing to do with disagreeing with Shepard or not trusting him/her.

Pretty much this, the only capacity in which my Shepard would ever 'slap' Ashley would be if things were getting decidedly 'wild'.

Seriously though, I have no desire to inflict pain on Ashley, I'm not even all that interested in getting into any kind of argument with her, though that may not be up to me, I was always able to overlook Horizon because I like the character so much and want to see her return as my Shepard's love interest.
Things may not be perfect but if some of the romance dialogues I read from the leaked script are any indication, there is more then enough reason for me to be hopeful on this front. Truthfully, though one can argue my Shepard has reason to be angry at Ash, he has no desire to be angry at Ash.

I criticise her for her reaction on Horizon but I'm not going to bitterly hold resentment towards her for the rest of the game, not when she's one of my favorites. My Shepard loves Ashley, that's how I chose to characterize him and he would never want to harm even a particle of her in any way. She could set him on FIRE and then kick him in the nads and he'd still be in love with her.
Though in some respects, I'm sure he would rather she not do that.

I once held that view Aurora313, hitting a woman was something I was taught to never do, it was morally wrong in my house growing up.  When I began taking Tae Kwon Do, I was taught by a woman.  I was the best fighter in my class outside of the instructors, so when sparring became a regular thing, I was made to spar with her more often than not.  Though I was nearly twice her weight at that time, she pressed her attacks, quite emphatically, until I countered.  From that point on, I adopted Xilizhra's view (which was 20 years ago now), and I don't hit anyone I know I can severly outclass in a physical contest.

It is sometimes confusing with women, especially since my old teacher could probably still put me in an excellent joint lock and immobilize me, though she will be the first to tell you that she will be in trouble when I get out (if the situation was real).

Therefore I would never strike a woman out of anger, but if one was attacking me I would certainly give her the attention she demands.

True but Anderson wasn't with Shepard when (s)he found the Rachni, the dead marines's/Admril (sp) and the colony so for me that is enough to justify their angry at Shepard, at the same time they are concered that Cerberus will betray Shepard which they do

I can't see "hate" in that Horizon moment. Call be blind, call me biased, call me stupid - but I can't see it. I can see an outraged woman that has to face the one she once loved and lost.

Angry? Yes. P*ssed of because she thinks Shepard faked his own death? Most likely. Mad, because he was working for Cerberus? Indeed. Hate? I can't sense it.
