Shepard doesn't get to galaxy saving wtihtou ashley and Kaidan. Kaidan is cheering Shepard up when he consoles her. Also Ashley and KAidan's service record is mostly unknown due to them not being in ME2 but they do somthing to get promoted to Commander or Major respectively.Goody Two Shoes wrote...

No it's not. Ashley is on par with sole-survivor Shepard for being the only survivor from her unit in the Eden Prime geth attack. Kaidan has an impressive service record, having never lost a soldier under his command as an officer. Compare that to Shepard who sends Jenkins blind into a geth recon-drone ambush.
Now compare their service record to a person who has saved the entire galaxy three times over. You can't. And Ashley only survived Eden prime because of Shepard's timely arrival. If the geth didn't kill her, Saren's charges would have.
And Shep didn't send Jenkins blind into an amubsh. Even Kaidan comments that Shepard "did everything right".
