Infinite ammo with overheat, or thermal clips?

I prefer the overheat, I'm not really fond of picking up half the ammo I just sent downrange after each firefight.

Those three seconds I spend on finding more? Not a big deal.

The overheat mechanism is gone. Dead, kaput. It has ceased to be and gone to meet its maker. Its a stiff, bereft of life it rests in peace, and no matter how many wannabee necromancers keep posting about it, it will not be making a comeback.
Deal with it.

-Faster shooting
-No exploits
-Not a real pain to pick up considering enemies die in front of your path
-Neat idea having guns fill up canisters that need to be ejected rather than the boring overheat idea

Ok, Killitingrillit, what would you prefer? Overheat, 100%, all the time.

right.....that 1.5 second you waste waiting for the heat to dissipated on a spectre-level rifle is not a big deal either, with the difference that if you are sieged or faciong overwhelming forces that use no weapons (like I dunno HUSKS) no thermal clips = death

Just bought Mass Effect games, just joined forums, never seen an ammo thread before. Simply asking what people like more. Wasn't whining on why they need to reintroduce it.
Deal with it.

My stepson is a US Marine, his answer was exactly the same

Makes for better gameplay. Also, picking up more isn't a big deal.

Here's the thing, though.
They could've saved so much whining if they had done something similar to the t-clips from the start.
No whining from the lore-fanatics.

unless you are considering a scenarion in which there are no thermal clips to be found....in which case you are screwed

Overheat. Keep an eye on the meter, or put the right upgrades on your weapon and life is sweet.
Frictionless matierals X and a taped down fire button/key does not make for good gameplay.

-Encourages the player to use different weapons/powers
-Adds a challenge to the gameplay and also makes it fun
-Finding clips is not much of a problem

If you're a Soldier, yeah. Every other class says "Meh" and starts using their powers until they find some more clips.
Which usually takes about three seconds.

This is a GAME we are talking about, most developers don't intentionally screw their customers so you can never expect a scenario in which you will be out of clips entirely. IRL overheat wins wins every time but in the eyes of Bioware it does not. The devs could easily make you have infinite ammo with no overheat, while preferable to either systems it would be utterly boring.

Agreed with something like that you just have to spray the room with bullets untill everything is dead, no challenge in it

This. It is like the kids playing multiplayer games using Turbo controllers; why play the game if you're going to be cheap? Takes all the fun and challenge of beating the enemy out of the game.Mclouvins wrote...

Gameplay-wise it MIGHT make sense to those who prefer that mechanic. In a general sense tho it's ridiculous as things stand

hence why an active cooldown ala Troika in GoW 2 and 3 is the best of both worlds
there is no sense in creating a great, unique lore if then you just throw **** at it to make it fit unimaginative gameplay
