im playing skyrim and not levelin up enchanting or achemy, and im not ruining the game with OP weapons and armors. im enjoying the game alot. because im CHOOSING to enjoy it.
i can understand if enchanting was forced on you, but its not. not even close. its no ones faiult but your own that you spent a few hours taking advantage of a game. i really dont feel bad for you, and i really dont get the complaint about it.

actually my friend it IS capped
Enchanting has a 29% on both alchemy and smithing cap and Alchemy has a 32% cap on enchanting .. fortify smithing potions have a 130% cap (for 30 seconds) regardless of the previously stacked bonuses (even if they tell you a higher percentage)
the cap is there, set by the devs.......
Then it's just bad game design. Even if it's true they are indeed capped, it still allows you to create game-breaking imba items that allows you to OHKO every single mob even on Master. In my opinion that's terribly bad game-design.
it's not a matter of "even if"
they ARE capped, I tested it (as well as others)
but still.......that simply proves my point. The choice is there.....it's up to you make it

So Do I. I also prefer types of ammo as items to switch in weapons depending on what I'm fighting. Not a skill. That's...silly. There I said it.

It sorta makes sense for warp ammo. But aside from that? Not so much.
And they are sticking with it for ME 3.
Yes gameplay trumps realism. I'm not sure it trumps *faceplam*.

A mass effect field did it, obviously.

You're welcome to discuss which you prefer, but you should know that we're using teh thermal clip system from ME2, not the overheat from ME1.
So does that mean you won't consider or pass along this interest?

They know. People (many, if not most, of them the same people) have been, shall we say, "airing their grievances" over thermal clips for coming up on 2 years straight now. It doesn't need to be passed along, and the consistent answer from the devs has been "It's not changing. Not back and not to a hybrid." People need to let it the hell go.

We're all wrong and should let it go? This way is definitely the best because somebody made that decision to use an ammo system like traditional shooters? I get that it won't go away. Why not this option that was proposed for New Game + though?

but a gameplay mechanic is beneath this?either ALL their testers hated the heating system and said "screw the lore" or they reeeeeeally want to appeal to the shooter crowd
also.....they have gone all the way to include three game mode (arcade, RPG and story)......why not a mode for overheating weaponsfor those who really REALLY hate thermal clips and needless retcon-ish moves?

Gameplay mechanic is way above that, this is why they don't make facebook polls and let the gameplay designer do the job.
And since ME2 was a hell of an improvement, I'll live with it.

Because, overheating require the entire game to be tweaked, where the modes are just a preset of parameters that you could change yourself in the menu screen.

those modes were added into the game roght? so could an overheat option alongside a nice little on/off switch on the main menu.......hell amateur modders added that to ME2 for god's sake
ME2 was an improvement in the sense that is feels more like a shooter, I agree that combat flows better but that does not meant thermal clips were needed or even a good idea...by your logic, also, since Skyrim can be played in 1st person then Crysis 2 is an "improvement" over Skyrim because it flows better as an FPS
no thank you...

Realism? What is this I do't even...
The game is not realistic at all. That said ammo types should of been addons but I am content with the soldier being dead to me.
back to the topic... The overheat system made the game to easy as I fired my assault rifle that kills in 3 shots non stop at enemies on the other side of the map. Besides changing it back would just be stupid lore wise and gameplay wise. Also wanting to retcon it back is just stupid considering the people who want that always complain about biowares retcons...<_<

an active cooldoown system would have achieved the same effect without spitting in the face of the lore
hell.....a better codex entry would have satisfied people as well....

ME3 has a certain gameplay philosophy and part of that philosophy is the ammo system, so no they aren't gonna add overheart because they probably don't feel like it is worth it

Hopefully, because in fact envery Mass effect game is a shooter, so it's pointless to hide the evidence, they'd rather more a good shooter with strong TPS mechanics than a lame erzatz of TPS like ME1 was

It doesn't make any sense because Skyrim and Crysis 2 are two completally différent kinds of games who just share the 1st-person view and that's all.

buuuuuuuuuut sadly EA seems to think in order to make money one has to appeal to the shooter crowd......Guess skyrim sold like hotcakes but it was just a fluke -groans-
