Ok, it is a hard part of my job, but I prefer to do what I call "managing expectations". When we do not manage fan expectation, people's imaginations get ahead of them and they see something cool, but since it isn't what they expect, they end up disappointed.
I can say it is not the FemShep trailer.
I can say it is footage not seen previously (not from previous demos, etc) and shows a "cool scene" on a planet that should be familiar to people who played Mass Effect 2.
I'm not going to say any more. This is a nice scene that made me geek out when I saw it. I know ME fans will enjoy it. I'll be watching the VGA awards and tweeting on my @BioEvilChris channel (easier to talk abotu otehr company's games and videos that way) during the show. I hope you all tune in to watch, and don't forget to vote for ME3 as Most Anticipated Game for 2012.
Thank you. Now I don't have to watch that piece of ****e VGA thing. I don't like award shows when they are done well, so ... Maybe I'll catch the trailer on youtube.
I didn't think I needed to finish that line, but oh well ...
I don't like award shows when they are done well, so ... I'm certainly not going to watch the VGAs.
I'd like to come and get that cheese but I'll most likely get an arrow in the knee.

Actually I'm kinda thinking the whole femshep trailer will never happen because videogame companies have and always will cater to the male game players. I mean femshep is just as important as her male counterpart she should be shown just as much love. Too bad the company doesn't feel that way. But whatever they show will be fine with me because I am just looking for something new.
I don't doubt that we will eventually get a femshep trailer, I just think we are likely to see it first on pulse before anyplace else.
We'll see it in Feburary...

You're kind of assuming that "most gamers" are mouth-breathing morons, aren't you?The PLC wrote...
FemShep trailer at the VGA would be unbelievably stupid. I know it's hard to grasp for the average BSN user, but most gamers doesn't give a crap about the female Shepard. Releasing it in February would make way more sense.
Although it's safe to say that "most gamers" probably haven't played Mass Effect.

Actually I do have to say alot of people care about femshep. Otherwise why would BW bother putting her on the box art at all especially for the CE or why would they bother promising they are going to make a trailer for her. Second of all how would it be unbelievably stupid? Would it hurt BW's sales in any way? I think not? As a matter of fact it might even interest more female players to pick up the game. Also if BW didn't think femshep was important why would they even bother creating her? And also just because there are people who would like to see something different besides the same old repeat over and over again you don't have to be so hostile. And I really don't think you are speaking for the majority of gamers because alot of people don't even speak up. Nobody knows what anybody else wants except the individuals themselves. Or unless you happen to have the ability to read minds. And one more thing, the gaming market has changed over the years. It is no longer the male dominated market it once was. Sure it is still mostly male but more and more females are playing so you can no longer justify your most gamer answer.

The VGA's, other than being a great venue for announcement, is a terrible show made for the COD crowd. These 'yeah bro-kind-of-gamers would never buy a game with a female lead character. Never! I know it sounds absurd, but I've met multiple people who thinks like this.sakuragrrl wrote...

If Bioware is going to use the VGA's to promote their game, they should use the default ManShep. He looks like a typical soldier type badass, and that's what most viewers of this show wants.
edit: And reading minds? What the hell are you on? 82% played as a male Shepard in Mass Effect 2. That's a number straight from Bioware. "But 18% is still a huge number!!", yeah of course, but 82 is quite a bit higher. MOST PEOPLE PLAY AS MALE SHEP.

Ok I see where you are coming from. That does make more sense, I didn't think of it that way. Plus it is hosted by Spike which is a channel that is geared toward male viewers. I just think that when you make a promise though you should deliver not make your fanbase wait until release.

Eh I wouldn't call it an obession (the board doesn't have threads and threads of her) but certainly some of us are very interested to see it. I don't really see why you're knocking that.

What the planet it may be? If ME2 players would recognise it, that must be easily recognisable place. So Illium (which probably looks like Thessia) and Horizon (may be mistaken for Eden Prime) are out. Citadel is off because a) it's not a planet

I hear ya, but what promise did they make? They said FemShep would have her own trailer, beyond that they never really gave us a date or anything factual. Long as it happens, I'll be happy.

Really? was that called for. Did I really say anything nasty to you? I am sorry I didn't look at that data. I am not constantly checking BW's site to see who played what character and how many times. That was really uncalled for. And my response was in no way shape or form insinuating anything personal about you. And when I responded to your other comment it was in a civilized manner. Sorry I even made a comment at all.

I guess I miswrote. What I meant was I wish they would at least give us some info. Because they made a promise. Plus you said it they said it but did not give us anything factual. I mean if you have no intention of giving a dog a bone don't tease him with it. A little bit of info would be nice.
