Still a disappointment however... apart from the few wallpapers and art we've seen, Femshep-Marketing has once again drifted off into oblivion...

Actually, make that two reveals. To kick things off, BioWare will be showing some brand new footage from Mass Effect 3, the latest game in Shepard’s planet-spanning, world-saving saga. But BioWare’s space age RPG isn’t the only game in the hot gaming spotlight.

That vid more or less confirmes that it's their C&C-game they're gonna announce. Looked good, those whole 2 seconds of it. Hope it's better than the last games they made. C&C 4 was probably the worst game ever made.
It confirms lolwut? It certaily CAN be but the chances are slim. Just because you see a 3 second clip with a top down view of three vehicles doesn't confirm jack. The vehicles were under attack so a wider view is appropriate regardless of the genre of the game. Mass Effect 2 had well zoomed out views for the attacks on both Normandys to allow the player a good view of what's going on.
Remember the original teaser of ME3 where it looked nothing like Mass Effect and had people guessing all sorts of things before it was confirmed to be Mass Effect 3. Ruined urban areas and vehicles are not exclussive to RTS games...they are VERY overused in shooters and we've seen them in both ME1 and ME2 and had a trailer show us there are some in ME3 as well. So please get serious, that trailer confirms absolutely nothing.

At this point I don't think they're going to make a FemShep trailer, there's been frak all marketing featuring her apart from that grody beauty pageant
There are still nearly 4 months until the game comes out and most trailers and info tend to be released near release anyway. I think there are solid chances we'll see at least one or two.

The VGA's, other than being a great venue for announcement, is a terrible show made for the COD crowd. These 'yeah bro-kind-of-gamers would never buy a game with a female lead character. Never! I know it sounds absurd, but I've met multiple people who thinks like this.
And yet, this is a channel which takes every opportunity it can to show a woman in a bikini. I guess a woman with a gun simply sends the wrong message to their audience. Personally, I think a woman in a uniform, especially an N7 hardsuit with a gun is a huge turn on and will get my attention everytime but I guess that means I'm just not 'manly' enough to hang with the 'yeah bro-kind-of-gamers...

This discussion is long dead. Chris has confirmed it will NOT be a femshep trailer.

What deception? I don't recall anyone from Bioware ever saying what would be shown at the VGA's until now.

Planet-scanning?!

Oh planet-spanning. Ha ha okay!
Oh well look forward to it. Hopefully it's something cool like the ME3 Teaser Trailer and less of the slow-mo pew pew pew that's been burned into my retinas.

That vid more or less confirmed that it was Mass Effect-related since he held an Incisor sniper rifle AND he had those things on his back where you attach weapons in ME. People who guessed something else was just blind I guess.

Maybe I will ditch one of my custom Shepard's for her.
Please no cinematic trailer, they are always a waste of time.

1. Look at the announcement trailer again and search for the signs I mentioned. Sniper rifle and the things on his back.
2. Sh!t bricks.
EDIT: Also, he ejects a thermal clip.
