Dialogue changing mods and compatibility

For instance, Leliana still accidentally falls in love with any warden I make once a certain conversation element is discussed. This is supposed to be fixed in both ZDF and Dialogue Tweaks. I also had a problem with Sten not realizing he had his sword back and telling me how it was missing right after I had gotten it.
What do I need to do to recitify this situation?
Thanks!

As for the other, the main thing to do is look for duplicate .dlb/.dlg files in your override folder. I would use the Search function on the override folder and look for *.dlb or *.dlg. If you have files with this extension that are the same (two leliana.dlb files in two different folders), then that is where the conflict lies. Also, make sure you are using Dialogue Tweaks v.93a that specifies it is compatible with ZDF and follow the directions within the .txt file that comes with ZDF.
Also, if you are fixing dialogue, I would highly recommend the Morrigan Restoration Patch and Alistair's IRS, even if you don't romance Alistair or Morrigan. These two patches fix a *lot* of dialogue issues, particularly with Alistair in the later parts of the game where the 'vanilla' game has a lot of bugs.

I had given Sten the sword the very instant I got it. He was greatful, I got rep. Then when I got to camp he brought it up like it was a problem with the sword sitting there on his back.
I have been using search today to go through the ZDF fixes but I will expand that as you suggest. Seems sensible.
What is the difference between a .utc and a .dlb or .dlg? Some of the files that ZDF wants me to remove from IA are only listed in .utc form within IA, and I don't know if I should delete those. ZDF specifies that I should look for the dlb/dlg file types.

.utc files are user template files. This deals with armor, stats, etc, but not dialogue - those flags and words are set in the .dlb/.dlg files. Also, IA has a very convoluted file/folder structure (that's why I use Search). It's been a while since I installed all my mods, so my memory may be a bit fuzzy, but I do know that it took me a couple of tries before I got all the dialogue mods and IA to play nice.
However, if the directions specify .dlb/.dlg, then only remove files with that extension, otherwise you'll end up with some very random, weird errors. For example, if you remove a .utc and then load a save file that had been saved with that .utc file in the override folder, then that character might very well end up nekkid. So be careful!

Here's my first conflict. The ZDF readme says it and the Morrigan Restoration Patch are compatible, but my search for party_events.dlb/dlg shows duplicates in each of these. Do I need to erase one? If so, which?
<update> All the files have been checked/removed as instructed. There were a few between IA and ZDF that I had not taken care of, but none of them seemed to influence the issues I mentioned in name at least. There can be issues at the Landsmeet as well with some minor dialogue clipping. For instance, Logain will say "raped" and not finish the sentence, and when votes start it is too abrupt and a word or two is lost at the front end.
I am also having a problem with IA's visual effects remover. I am getting really sick of weapon rune graphics. This section of the mod claims to remove them, but does not. I also have 2 components installed from the GT Core Rules Fixpack that take care of visuals of other types (ground AoE or things like the bard buff visuals), but all of these together seems to do nothing whatsoever to rune graphics.

EDIT:
Hmmm, for the remainder of your problems, I can say that the Landsmeet is notorious for bugs. I did notice that the Alistair IRS helped with that after I installed it, but I also know that sometimes, when the game's cache is full, stuff like skipping dialogue, mis-timed dialogue, can occasionally occur. Have you cleared the game's cache (and your computer cache) lately?

I got the Reduced Weapon VFX mod and look forward it to taking it for a spin.
How do I clear the game's cache? I have a lot of issues with this game by virtue of having a quad core processor (virtual 8). My computer heavily outstrips the requirements, but I still have a lot of very slow loads that get worse and worse the more I save and load, including area transition loads. Alt-tabbing compounds it.

To clear the game's cache, start the DA Origins Launcher. Instead of hitting Play, hit Configure, go to Repair, and select 'Clear Download Cache'. I'd also clear out the Temp folders on your computer as well. On Windows you can use the Disk Cleanup Tool or download a program called CCleaner to clean up your computer temp files/folders.
Also, there is a known issue with Dragon Age: Origins (still) in which it is limited to the 32-bit space of any computer it's run on, so all the CPU cores and RAM In the world won't make it faster (this is a limitation of the 32-bit kernel and how it executes commands and how it uses its memory space). I find that the longer I play in a single session, the slower the loads get. This is pretty common. If I play for 60-90 minutes, then quit, then start again, my load times never get too long. A bit immersion breaking, but then so is staring at the loading screen for 5 minutes.
Here is the ZDF compatibility instructions (from the ZDF / Dialogue Tweaks compatible version readme.txt):
*to make compatible with other mods*
Dialog Tweaks: If using the manual version of Dialog Tweaks, delete leliana.dlg/dlb and zevran_main.dlg/dlb from the Dialog Tweaks .93a folder.
GateKisses: Delete party_events.dlg/dlb from the ZDF Base folder
Alistair IRS: Delete from ZDF's Alistair folder:
alistair_main.dlg/dlb from the Alistair folder
63010_party_camp_kiss_dwarf.cut/cub
63010_party_camp_kiss_ef.cut/cub
63010_party_camp_kiss_hf.cut/cub
Charsen's kisses: From Charsen's kisses folder (leave mine intact), delete:
zevran_kiss_ef.cub
zevran_kiss_ef.cut
zevran_kiss_ef_two.cub
zevran_kiss_ef_two.cut
ZevRing: Delete my zevran main fixes folder. I suggest downloading my ZevRing optional addon as I repair quite a few bugs. If you download it, if using the manual version of ZevRing, delete zevran_main.dlg and zevran_main.dlb from the ZevRing folder in addition to my Zevran Main Fixes folder, and extract the correct version (DT or non-DT) into the ZDF folder.
Morrigan Restoration Patch Fix Pack. ZDF and MRPFP are now compatible.
Here are compatibility tips for Alistair IRS readme.txt
***Compatibility****
+Mild romance scenes: http://social.biowar...m/project/2418/
Download the TMP Mild Romances compatible version or IRS-A. Open the mild romances folder find the following files and DELETE them:
alistair_main.dlb, alistair_main.dlg, and genpt_alistair_events.ncs. Now they should work together.
+ZDF http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=928
All you have to do for this one is delete the following files from ZDF: alistair_main.dlb, and alistair_main.dlg, and they should work well together.
+BSC- Delete the files alistair_sex_hf.cub and .cub (same with _ef, _df, etc) as well as the files 95692_kiss_human.cub and .cut (as well as _elf) from
BSC folder.
Here are the mods INcompatible with Alistair IRS:
1) LadyOlivia's Alistair Dialogue Patch (ADP). These mods edit the same files and are not compatible.
2) Ejoslin’s Zevran Dialogue Fixes (ZDF). There are conflicting files.
3) Improved Atmosphere. There is a conflicting file.
4) Qwinn's Unofficial DA:O Fixpack. There are many conflicting files with this mod.

I had this page up with your fix, then reloaded to see it gone and I can't get it back!

Theskymoves, your info wasn't confusing. Yours was the only thing that actually included data for how to make IRS Alistair compatible with Improved Atmosphere! I saw the same thingtklivory saw: "There is a conflicting file."
I had this page up with your fix, then reloaded to see it gone and I can't get it back!
From the IRS-Ali read me:
"*There is a file in improved atmosphere which will conflict with this mod. It can be deleted and the mods will thenwork well together. Delete the leliana_aftermakelove.stg from IA. It's in the folder Improved Atmosphere --2. Modules --2.4 Dialogs & Stages & Cutscenes folder. "
If you use Mild Romance Scenes, the current version is not compatible with IRS-Ali, per tmp7704. There is a workaround of sorts on the Mild Romance scenes project page, in the comments.

Oh hey, do any of you know how the difficulty enhancing mods work? I use Combat Tweaks with one of the difficulty tweaks placed in my override directory. How can I make sure I don't accidentally install another difficulty tweak that comes stealth packaged with something, and can I use this tweak stacked with the default game difficulty settings to amp it up more as needed?

Here's a part of the mod description from its project page at Dragon Age Nexus:
This mod makes the game anywhere from marginally to significantly more difficult, depending on the settings you choose. Almost all aspects of RAVAge are customizable through the DragonAge.ini settings, allowing you to tailor the mod to your preferences.
The default settings should be quite a bit more difficult than a vanilla playthrough, with occasional encounters of exceptional difficulty, and it should offer a fair amount of custom items on par with and often better than those already available throughout the course of a standard game.
This increased difficulty is recommended to achieve an overall feeling of a more "advanced" playthrough. When combined with the extra experience gained from additional enemy encounters, as well as the better items you will find, the game will be harder but offer commensurately better rewards.
-----
I never used Combat Tweaks, so I can't compare them, but I love this mod, and would highly recommend it, especially to add spice to the game, since it makes every fight unpredictable (i.e., you don't get the same enemies in each fight). It can be challenging, so be warned!
