It's better than Dragon Age II, way better.

Skyrim is a good game, but it's still a different kind of game than the ones Bioware makes.

I actually finished DAII, so by my standards, DAII I apparently like better than Skyrim because I haven't really played Skyrim all that much.

You can't compare bioware to bethesda. It's like comparing Skyrim to Dark Souls. Yeah they're technically in the same category, but they're totally different.

These nearly arbitrary site specific awards are so silly. Most people who are interested in these games own all three for the simple reason it is still somewhat of a niche genre. We had DA2 in March. Nearly three months later the Witcher 2 rolled around. Then six months after that there was Skyrim.

Are these awards meant to point us to games worth buying or to categorize them based on overall quality? There are already reviews for that. This is nothing short of a glorified list of the staff's favorite games with a side dish of reader selections no one cares about. Mehness.

Actually, I agree. But Oblivion is only ahead of Skyrim because I consider Modded Oblivion the only Oblivion. But when Skyrim gets the CK....it's definitely going to top.

Can't say much about HoMM - i don't play these games but I certainly agree with
"Oblivion > Skyrim > Morrowind".

Because your judging a modded game against well a Vanilla version. Modded Oblivion was the vision Bethesda had and should not be counted as a game. Vanilla Oblivion should be compared to vanilla Skyrim.

Skyrim has been pretty lackluster for me. I have forced myself to play it for about 50 hours now, but it's very dull and repetitive if you've already played MMOs in the past. Most of the quests are fetch quests and I also got a quest to "kill 10 bears" also. *yawn*

Understanding that all future play would likely just be more cave-diving errands, I decided not to invest any more time than I have already. Modestly entertaining but I really don't see what all the excitement is about. It's just "fine" to me.

DA2 on a list and TW2 not is just tragic really. The irony is I used to think DA2 wasn't all that bad until I played TW2, and it dawned on me how much better it could and should have been.
