I know this might get locked because it belongs in the support group and all but folks should IMO be aware of this:

Michael Beattie has likely been replaced as Mordins VA in ME3:

(since I emailed him AFTER the tweet went out that VO recording for ME3 was done just to check on him)

No contract and no recording done.

It would also be nice to get some response from Bioware on this.

It's okay, guys. Everything will be fine.

Nonetheless, someone hold me.

There's gotta be a story here beyond just "scheduling problems" or something mundane like that.

I'm guessing they got Mark Meer to voice him, as Mordin is only a cameo in ME3. Why pay for a brand new VA when you've got an already contracted one whom can mimic the voice to near perfection?

We do know from the old thread that in the E3 demo Mordin was only temporarily voiced by Mark Meer but he is NOT going to be Mordin's voice in the actual game. That leaves only two options:

1) Michael will get a last minute call to do the voice of Mordin
2) new actor we haven't heard perform as Mordin yet

But yes, BioWare and EA need to come clean on this issue immediately.

a. Meer has confirmed he only did a bit for E3.
b. That doesn't explain why they didn't just use the non-brand-new Beattie.

Well this is disappointing news, but really Mordin isn't too big of a player in ME3, it could be a lot worse (for example, if Martin Sheen was unable to return that would be huuuge). At worst we will have to suffer through a Mordin voice imitation for a brief mission on Sur'Kesh; the rest of the game will be Mass Effect geek out gold.

They got every other voice actor back so why change Mordin.I doubt they thought that Michael Beattie did a bad job.

Well, as much as we might like them to explain what was behind the decision, they don't "need" to do anything.

I think it may simply be that Michael Beattie demanded more than BioWare could afford. Probably not the best conclusion but it's entirely possible. It's business, after all.

Actually I think they do because with all the other issues EA has going on(Origin and all that) their reputation is going down in flames and soon enough all these other smaller issues will keep piling up and actually hurting their sales severely. They do need to start sorting things out starting with some of the smaller and more limited issues like this one, which will only largely impact the most dedicated Mordin fans.

Never found Mordin interesting, to be honest. The only part that was interesting is his loyality mission, and even then, it's content, not character.

So...more of a gray day for this ME fan.

I'll be honest - I don't think they are too worried about the tiny fraction of their fans that are Mordin fans...I don't even think thats 1% of their customer market.
