I'm pretty sure its a computer voice. Makes sense to use in Beta when its unfinished.
Michael Beattie won't be voicing Mordin in ME3 it seems.

We could do that but I personally will just kill him and be done with it.vvDRUCILLAvv wrote...
I guess we all can try to pretend that Mordin's voice change is due in part to his ''at the point of death'' age. Even then it blows hard!

At least they had the decency to erase it out of cannon history along with X-men III when they made First class....let's see EA/BioWare ever openly admitting to a catastrophic mistace instead of just trying to shove it further down our throats...

But that's even worse because now not only does poor mordin sound crappy(his ghost haunting me that is) but I have to live with the guilt of having purposefully set him up for his death....all because he was too awesome. And then who's going to cure the genophage, help with Tali's immune system and perhaps even save the frog's(<-Thane) life? Not really a sollution for me and not an admission of mistake.

I meant that BioWare admitted how big of a mistake the suicide mission was but yeah you can kill him off there as well if you want.Darth_Trethon wrote...

Big mistake yes because now they have to account for how ME3 will play with any number of members missing and the bloody combination of who lived is nearly endless and they've yet to give real branching or consequence to any of our choices and this concludes the trilogy so what are the chances they won't screw it up. All I know is they better not screw up the three most beloved companions.....Tali, Garrus and Legion.....Mordin is 6th, a huge mistake but one the game MIGHT survive if they produce miracles in compensating in the other areas. At the end of the day the fixing it is what really counts and it remains to be seen if they can deliver.

We all want him back. I bet BioWare won't even have the courtesy of talking to us about it. They will say something about the new guy doing great, or they had a great run with Beattie, or they haven't announced the cast list yet, or blah blah blah. I'd have more respect for them if they would talk to us more openly, rather than ever-positive tones that sound like they come right out of a scripted panel trying to sell Mass Effect 3 and shadow its flaws, even to fans who deserve the answers.
I know what you mean, and kinda pisses me off when Bioware or any devolopers do that. Its good to sound positive and all yeah but why cant any of them just be straight up lol, if Bioware for example said that the new guy is a great replacement but doesnt sound "exactly" like Mordin, then I'm fine with that. If that kind of honestly was displayed then I'm sure many ppl would respect them more and its alot better to actually know or at least have an idea what you're getting rather then to buy the game and find out that the "amazing" feature they said was gonna be turns out to be crap. xP
Like the multiplayer, I would be a million times more pissed off if we found out it doesnt have offline capability the day we actually get it. It'd be better to find out before-hand so we can prepare ourselves.
Edit- Btw Bioware pls dont actually decide for no offline capabilty in multi, that was just an example. One that I really hope doesnt become a reality. (:S

No, Drell is not reptilian, they are reptile-like humanoids but not reptilian.

See the difference? Reptilian have more lizard-like features, Drell seems more "human"...

I would say Thane desing is more similar to an actual lizard http://es.wikipedia....ivo:Tuatara.jpg than the reptilian-like being (fifth element bad guys?) on the right.
Anyway, regarding alien species, inteligent or not, i dare to say that the groups and names of the animals of Earth have no meaning outside of our planet. I mean, of course you can alway say human-like, reptilian-like and so regarding the appearence, but there's no actual biological relationship between alien and Earth species, that is the current criterion used to name group of species.
Said that, in Biology (at academy level) the label "reptil" has no meaning, since the "reptils" are not a monophyletic group (academic mumble meaning that there are other species with the same common ancestor not considered reptils) so you can forget I torture english in this post.

Do we know why Beattie wasn't brought back? It obviously wasn't for performance reasons. I'm guessing either BioWare offered him too little money (in his opinion) or he wanted too much (in their opinion).
No. They just forgot to tell that suit who makes VA deals, that Mordin is in ME3 too. When it was time to record Mordins lines, they just picked unlucky janitor, who happened to be nearby and used him.
That was just one of those little details we should not notice.

Semantics. That drell are also humanoid is self-evident. I mentioned it because someone called him a frog. No, Drell is not reptilian, they are reptile-like humanoids but not reptilian.

Me too, IMO Mordin's character was one of the best in ME2. He gave me more laughs than any other.
Such a shame.
