Thane is reptilian.

No, Drell is not reptilian, they are reptile-like humanoids but not reptilian.

One meaning of "reptilian" IS "reptile-like".  They're reptilian.

Do any of you think that any gaming sites would be interested in this news, or do you believe that they would ignore it even if they knew? Would you consider pointing this news out to some of them a worthy endeavour?

Can't hurt to try, IMO. What have you got to lose? At worst they'll ignore it... anything more than that is a bonus.

There's gotta be a story here beyond just "scheduling problems" or something mundane like that.

A website called Shogun Gamer has just published a story on this.

The author's stance on the situtation seems to be extreme disappointment. That should go along nicely with what i've seen many of you state you feel about this issue.

Here's the article.

Hey, thanks. I feel like the tone of the article aside from the very obvious issue of Mordin's VA replacement was bit more negative than I would personally feel, but there's certainly no denying that there are people who feel similarly -- or worse. So, good article.

So that's another update, then. If "as of now" literally means "as of December 24th" as it should, and with the article pointing out that the VO process has been finished, it seems like a fool's errand to believe Michael Beattie will be reprising his role. A shame beyond shame considering I would classify his voice as the most iconic in the entire series, Shepard's dual vocal chords notwithstanding.

Great article. I would love to see other publications like Game Informer comment on this.

Good article.

And still, why is Bioware avoiding to respond about this issue?

In what way, shape or form, pray tell?

They may have a specific email address to send news tips to, if enough people do that they could see this as something worth doing an article on.

Come one Bioware. Hire the man! Do we have to do our own fund-raising or what?

Considering I remember loads of critics being quite vocal about how good Beattie was as Mordin this still baffles me. What was he asking for? A castle? And I really feel BioWare should comment on this if they have wrapped the VA up, even if they can't tell us why for some reason a message to the fans saying that unfortunately Beattie won't be reprising his role would be appreciated. It wouldn't fit the tone of the usual VA announcement and it shouldn't be left that long really.

Some part of me hopes this is just some kind of evil and twisted PR stunt to generate buzz. Still... *sniff* unlikely.

With all the questionable development decisions involving this franchise something tells me they shouldn't try something like this again.

Poor Mordin, I'll just pretend he's got a bad case of the Salarian Flu when I see him on Sur'Kesh. The best VA not returning. Oh why oh why ....

Why shouldn't they? It ain't like other gaming/movie trilogies are without its problems and controversies, rarely it's a smooth sail to the end, you would have to be very lucky.

I really need the story behind this, I simply cannot understand why Bioware would do something this stupid. There will without doubt be a lot of criticism for ME3, some maybe justified, some probably not. Topics like overall story, character development, multiplayer, Origin etc will be discussed and are being discussed at length, and not all of it will end positively for Bioware and their game.

Why aggrevate the fans with something so unnecessary like this, something that should never ever be any kind of issue? If I'm not given a damn satisfying explanation as to why it's possible to get back Martin Sheen but not neccessary to even contact Michael Beattie I'll be forced to think that they just don't care.

By now I'm more or less convinced that there weren't any plans for Ash to have proper armor before the massive fan rage, so the feeling they don't care about their own characters as much as they should is already building up. And, although off topic, the fact that they weren't able or willing to give some kind of helpful comment on the possible requirement of Origin before the year was over makes simply me nervous and angry.

I just want to play and love the damn game, why make it so hard for me to look forward to it?

Not if they want advertising dollars from EA.

I think you might be confusing reptilian with reptile.

I sent tips to Joystiq and Game Informer this morning. I occasionally write articles for Archetype, too, so I will cover that bit on my own.

I was thinking of sending a news tip to GI but I wasn't sure if putting down this page's URL would be a good enough source.
