Michael Beattie won't be voicing Mordin in ME3 it seems.

I have major concerns about this as well.....Mordin and Legion had better make permanent squad members in ME3 or I'll be insanely pissed. The romances are just about guaranteed to make permanent returns so that's 8 plus the new dude, Vega or whatever his name is so that's 9 so far we can pretty much count on I think. That doesn't leave a lot of room assuming the party still caps at 12 which is likely given that we still have an SR2 and we didn't get a new larger ship.
Just about all of that is confirmed to not be the case. Mordin and Legion are not making full-time returns, in fact no ME2 exclusive teamates are. They confirmed pretty early on that ME3 was opting to go for character quality instead of quantity.

And before you go blaming anybody, please remember that your not Beattie or Bioware, and have no idea whats going on. It could be just money, or it could be something very personal.
Please don't escalate this to a typical BSN fight, i've had enough attempted murders and betrayels this year. (Hehe..... Garrus quotes are fun!)

The thing is that whatever they may have said way too early in development is ALWAYS subject to change and plenty of things DO exactly just that. They passed some vague statements on what you say many months ago but you're drawing conclusions that weren't actually said. They said they didn't "intend" Legion to be a major character which while it may imply a small appearence that's not actually said....they also never intended Tali to be a LI in ME1 and Chris Priestly stated this many times at the time but fan reaction changed this and she was never confirmed as an LI prior to the release of ME2.
And so on, do not read things that aren't actually spelled out.

I'll be honest - I don't think they are too worried about the tiny fraction of their fans that are Mordin fans...I don't even think thats 1% of their customer market.
Mordin was one of ME2's most popular new entries. Many reviewers commented specifically on Mordin being a standout character and favourite, particularly with the infamous song he performed. And Beattie was instrumental in that, providing many of Mordin's vocal nuances and mannerisms. I'd actually say that Mordin's voice actor returning is more important in that regard than most other characters, as Mordin was very much defined by his way of speaking.
Pretty much this. Meer's performance in the demo was pretty good, but out of probably any character in Mass Effect (and potentially any Bioware game), Mordin's VA is the last one they should be trying to change, given the amount of talent necessary to pull it off. We'll see what happens.

Everyone should sign it. Call your friends, spread the word, send a telegram to your great grandparents in Greenland. Do what must be done! So say we all.

Robert Duvall did not return for Godfather Part III. And look what happened.
Eh, I still liked it, admittedly nowhere near the level of the first two. I think Sophia Coppola brought the film down more than lack of Robert Duvall.

Yeah...
Mordin is always fun to talk with, though. He's like the only squadmate besides Zaeed and Kasumi who is cycling through dialogues.

But seriously - some people think Mordin didnt matter? WHAT!? Are you crazy!?
Like Terror_K mentioned: MANY reviewers and game journalists LOVED Mordin.
Should I pull out that Mordin made the #1 spot of the Top 5 mass effect characters list from XPLAY[which Btw, xplays staff are RABID mass effect fans i'll have you know]. That Playstation magazine praised him for being new and fresh, an intriguing character that stands out. That IGN adored him.
This is truly a sad event to find out about. This is Mass Effect 3 we talking about! BW should have pulled out all the stops to make it special. And not pull out voice actors.
But alas, the decision has been made. The new actor has some shoes to fill. Hopefully everything will work out in the end. *hopeful*
edit: Theres really no point in signing petitions at this point seeing as all the VO work has been officially completed according to Bioware. Sad but true. Mordin is already voiced :/
We just need to wait to see [or hear] how it goes.

To be fair, I think BioWare should replace most of the VAs who debuted in ME2 with someone new because as some people have stated, if someone is going to be relegated to cameo appearances it doesn't really matter right?
Yup. Let's totally do this.

I honestly don't agree with that, or anyone who tries to make people "like" chracters on the forums. The great thing about Mass Effect is you can draw your own conclusions about characters and personalities. I love Garrus to death, but others may not. Just like I have don't really care for Tali, others certainly do and I think it's a good idea to respect that.AdmiralCheez wrote...

(Also, it's hard to read or gauge a forum based response. It has little to do with intelligence, but rather intent.)
