People take these romances too damn srsly. Srsly gaiz.
As for me, I just had to torture myself by lining up several impossible choices:
Ash vs. Miranda
Ash vs. Tali
Kaidan vs. Thane
Kaidan vs. Garrus
And then Liara vs. Jacob, but that'll be easy, since that Shep just used Jacob for his body.
On the bright side, I have five that only got with one person, and the last one is Forever Alone. Well, gay, actually.
I regret nothing!

And I don't understand why Miranda's LotSB dossier would make anyone stay away from her.
Because Maker forbid a woman attempt to have some agency in choosing who she wants to be with and deal with or even think about interacting with multiple sex partners. There's also the "little" issue of her infertility, because honestly if she can't bear you children you should cut her loose! Only the best most fertile women are suitable for Shepard.
Meh.

He said that he met a doctor for drinks after a long period of trying to get over Shepard, while he thought that Shepard was dead. I don't see how this is supposed to be unreasonable or faithless.sushismygen wrote...
Kaidan does dump her, saying he's moved on and considers dating some chick on Citadel. If a guy needs to go out with another girl to figure out if he wants me back, then sorry, but this is not my kind of guy.

I really hate when people call what happened to Shepard cheating, at least when it comes to Fshep. Kaidan does dump her, saying he's moved on and considers dating some chick on Citadel. If a guy needs to go out with another girl to figure out if he wants me back, then sorry, but this is not my kind of guy. The one who says he'll follow me to hell and back is! I did save one fshep that is going to stay faightfull for science but my canon Shep is more then happy to "cheat" on VS and continue saving the Galaxy with a turian vigilante at her side.
1. Kaidan doesn't "dump" Shepard.., they had an argument that can be interpreted as dumping, but it was not a CLEAR case of dumping.
2. reading comprehension is a lost art it seems. he is NOT concidering dating a doctor, he already HAD one date, back when he though that, you know, Shepard was dead and not alive, working with Terrorists. and even then, that date didn't work out, you know especialy with Shepard showing up alive and all. poor guy tried to move on, BURN HIM! how dare he not spend the rest of his life mourning shepard, like a dead man walking?
It took me a long time to get over my guilt for surviving and move on.
I'd finally let my friends talk me into going out for drinks with a
doctor on the Citadel. Nothing serious, but trying to let myself have a
life again, you know?
Then I saw you, and everything pulled hard to port.
3. I have 2 moved on Shepards. femshep hopefuly will get to stay with her ME2 LI. in retrospect she and Kaidan weren't a good match to begin with. for a while, I coduln't decide with her, and then couple of things hapened during her suicide mission run.... and it seemed like fate.
maleshep - had a fling in ME2, soothing his bruised heart and pride - he wants to get back together with Ashley.
I don't have any Shepards anymore that love both LI's equaly, so the choice is not going to be difficult for me.
I hope Bioware retains at least some maturity and DOESN'T add catfights over Shepard or any of that idiocy. at most ME1 like confrontation, provided Shepard tried stringing them both along, ala ME1 before it.

Don't tinker with Jacksplosives!
But more serious question: do you have "I'm loyal" playthroughs? Which one^^

Five of them: Jack, Ashley, Jacob, Garrus, Liara, and Tali. Tali and Jacob were the result of going for the "next best thing" because there weren't enough gay/bi options, however, so Tali might get dumped for Kaidan/Vega, and Jacob might get dumped for Ash or Tali if either of them are made available.CptData wrote...

But Ash, Jack, Liara, and Garrus have secured their respective Shepards until death do them part.
And Freddie's still waiting for his prince to come.
I have complicated roleplaying reasons for all of this stuff.

Sounds like a plan, Admiral ^^
If my hopes are right, then you'll be able to get any active LI through the game. Of course, some may need more work to get through than others, but should be possible. I don't think BW will use scripted deaths on any LI character you can't avoid.
I wonder which romance will be your favorite one in the end.

Oi vey. Neither Kaidan nor Shep cheat on each other. Shep was DEAD. That's a relationship ender. You don't go "OMG YOU SKANK!" to the wife of the man who was seen as KIA two years ago when he comes back home and sees her with someone else (not unless she was with that someone else before he even died). It's more "Oh that sucks. She moved on..." and they try to see if they can rebuild/restart their relationship. Sometimes they don't most times they do (in movies anyway. I'd assume it's more the reverse in RL). Doesn't mean anyone was cheated on.

Well yeah, I mean the whole "dead for two years" thing was always on my mind (and I always sympathized with the VS, even if my current Shepard didn't), but it took that analogy to drive it home.jeweledleah wrote...

Last statement makes only sense if you want your Shepard having kids with his LI. Miri can't have children. Maybe the Hanar can fix her
Some Miri fans have issues with this, me ? I'd rather Mr. Lawson did something really, really, REALLY horrible to Miri's cells, and thus she can't have children of her own, ever.
Now, that seems a little cruel given how I love Miranda so bad, but I think it's much better (story-wise) if she and Shepard manage to move their relationship through such an adversity.
Hell, my Shepard never knew his parents and now he has a chance to adopt someone, if that's not the pure poetry of life, then I don't know what is.

I cheated on Liara with Miranda In another playthrougth.
I Will Always choose Ashley over anyone in M3, Because, well, she's awesome. And nobody beats it.
I like Liara, but I prefer Miranda, so in M3, I Will choose Miranda.
Tali, never bothered to do her romance, I do not like masks. but she's cute.
Jack; I do not find female punks attractive.

I see it as a legal separation of sorts. which still basicaly equals no cheating. but its something that can be started over if both parties wish and there's enough of an opening left with VS to start over. its not a clean break. yet. (you can only have a clean break with Liara)Ryzaki wrote...

some people who separate proceed to date other people. yet other people stay single and try to figure out ways to get back together. to each their own
ME3 scares the crap out of me, in terms of confrontation, becasue that separation deal? coupled with letters that were pretty open ended - it works both ways.

I don't have real issues with this. Right now I'm going through that decision in my R/L: marriage - yes. Children? Most likely no. I think Shepard won't have much time for a family as well.feliciano2040 wrote...

However, the Hanar seem to be the most advanced race when it comes to medical issues, same for Salarians. If they can neuter an entire race, why not fixing Miranda's problem? I don't see a real problem here.
BTW: I'm an Ash fan and THEN a Miri fan. ^^ And my canon!Shepard wants kids with Ash.
Hmm, you should also try a playthrough without cheating on Ashley or Liara - I wonder if there's a difference.Sylvianus wrote...

Hm don't agree but I see why you see it that way. And at least you're not calling anyone a cheater.
Frankly if ME3 could have either Shep refer to his/her own actions as "cheating" or moving on I'll be fine. If Kaidan/Ash says my Shep cheated though and there will be a Picard style facepalm [most likely followed with a GTFO my face] (if my Shep didn't refer to it as such first). Just...no.

Actually I have more than 15 playthroughts, and almost all remain loyal to Ashley.
That was just what I've done in two playthoughts.
However, you're right, I should try this with Liara.. But I love the personality of Miranda, and I can't decide not to be with her when my first romance in M1 isn't as awesome as Ashley. But after Skyrim, I plan to do another playthrought, with a maleshep and Liara as LI. I will do my best to remain loyal in M2.

Basically I'm curious about those who decided to "cheat" on their ME1 LIs with new LIs from the second game... my question is, if you are forced into some kind of confrontation in ME3 where, say, you have to choose between Ashley and Miranda/Liara and Tali/Kaidan and Garrus, etc. who would you choose to stick with/go back to, and why??
I have only one Shepard that will be loyal to Kaidan, and one Male Shepard that will be loyal to Ashley. The other Shepards will be loyal to their ME2 love interests.

Fivet ... fiveteen.
You're an even bigger Ash fan than I am, kudos, man. I just have five playthroughs.
At least all of them have Ash as LI, and all of them are loyal like dogs.

Depends on what they do with Miranda. Either I'll stick it out to the bitter end or say goodbye and move to BW's new and improved ME3 female LI. <_<
From what I understand, there isn't a new squadmate female LI in ME3 (and I'm glad of that, considering the new "female" companion).
I'll stay with Miranda in my main playtrough, no matter what Bioware will do to her.
Edit: And Shepard didn't cheat the ME1 LI imo. Death ends relationship, or so I thought.
