This happened in a Bioware office in Austin, Texas.

Why?

And if you don't know who Rick Perry is...

Let me help you out. He's that Homophobic man promoting himself to be the next North American President.

Here's his most famous Campaign AD Called "Strong."

He was talking about innovation and business. Bioware is a successful and innovative (albeit, Canadian) company which apparently operates in Texas. It's not that complicated.

You ignore many facts that i won't even bother to list if you're gonna make it "THAT" simple.

You may find this difficult to believe, but Rick Perry probably doesn't know what Mass Effect is.

When i find that believable... I also found this small article saying:

"But there is one big plus for Rick Perry that Video Game Lovers & Nerds everywhere can approve of, and that’s the fact that Rick Perry is the first Presidential candidate, to my knowledge to care anything, and be seen with the popular video game, Mass Effect. Yes, in his first Campaign video, essentially laying out his record and general love for America, Perry is seen at Bioware‘s offices in Austin, Texas looking at Mass Effect 2, while the narrator talks about American ingenuity. Granted, Bioware is a Canadian company, but they opened an office in Texas under Perry’s watch! Not many people will notice it’s 5-second inclusion in the video, but this political/video game Nerd did.

Just remember, when you decide who you want to be the Republican to be nominated for President, only Rick Perry, cares about Mass Effect. "

And by following it... I'll also believe that he knows. How can someone be involved with a company without knowing what it sells or the services it provides? Now if he doesn't know he's just as bad as everyone think he is.

What i'm trying to do here is AVOID what YOU are trying to do. Do not make it simple. It is as complicated and INSULTING.

This.

At this point Perry's strongest credentials are that we in Texas didn't really get hit as hard by the current recession as other states, and the job numbers over the last decade are better than any other. Perry also likes to promote (read: attract from California's sinking ship) technological industries in the state and video games are considered part of that. The fact that Bioware moved in from Canada makes no difference, as far as politics are concerned.

I'd be much more concerned if he was pro-gay rights and promoting himself with a game that was homophobic.

This is just a bit irony that can be used to make fun of the man, if you so choose.

Fun? You think it's fun?

I am not laughing. But since you guys seem to take it like "Oh. It's okay. He's just doing business."

Makes me lose faith in humanity. Absolutely NO KIND of respect for other's decisions. Guh. But well. That's the simple minded human.

Aside from the fact that Rick Perry is still a person we talk about in this country there's nothing really to be upset about here.

So, let me get this straight. You believe that Rick Perry is a diabolical genius who is going to propel himself from a fifth-place Republican primary candidate to the Presidency by winning the support of Mass Effect fans by showing two seconds of a computer with Mass Effect on it in one of his less publicized campaign ads?

Just trying to understand.

Worried by the current ignorance of you. PEOPLE. That are avoiding knowing that this guy may even GET his nose into the GAMING COMPANIES to CHANGE. The game structure.

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm worried about all the other stuff as well. But since this is the BIOWARE FORUM.

I just... don't know WHY i thought the OPEN MINDED gamers would be worried as hell.

"OH DUDE. BUT WHO CARES. HE'S JUST SHOWING 2 SECS OF STUFF HE PROBABLY DOESN'T KNOW."

Yeah. Okay. I actually HOPE he doesn't know. But for the love of everything game related...........

If he knows. IF HE KNOWS.... That there are GAY. HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVITIES. Into the games...

WHAT MAKES YOU THINK HE'LL BE OKAY WITH THAT?

NGH. Is that so incredibly difficult to understand?

/facepalm

So let met get this straight.

You think Rick Perry is going to be able force changes to be made to a video game...that's being made in Canada? As a private venture?

Seriously?

First off, Perry is not so homophobic that he would even care about this "stuff" as you put it, being portrayed in video games. He is simply against gay marriage, at least so far as I understand it.

Secondly, Perry is not a serious threat to win the Republican Nomination, it's either Gingrich or Romney at this point.

Third, to think that Perry has the power and/or ability to force a private company to take something he and others like him finds offensive out of video games demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge about how the American government works, which I'm going to assume you don't know about in any case as English is hopefully not your first language, (if it is, then we have other problems), and therefore there is a very good probability you do not live in America.

Don't worry about it. The private views of the American president can not, on its own, force a video game company to do jack ****. If that were the case, Bush would already have done what you are so afraid Perry will do.
