Really? DA2 Better than Skyrim? To each his own.. but I can't think of a single thing DA2 does better than Skyrim.. or the Witcher 2, which was strangely omitted.
Skyrim's the highest rated RPG now, and the revenue they've made off sales is already almost equal to what EA paid for Bioware. It's going to rack up every award.

The two games should never be compared. They are two different types of rpg games. When you get older you will understand that.

I am totaly aware of that,skyrim is an open world game with tons of contents and enviroment.Dragon age 2 is in 1 small map,but it has a lot better story and its not focused on tons of content but on ebbter voice acting,storytelling and companionsMelca36 wrote...

They're probably nominating it just because of the names Dragon Age and Bioware. Just like the new Assassin's Creed will get GOTY noms even though it's not as good as the previous ones, IMO, just because it's AC.

Skyrim was able to transcribe a conflict between two sides much more subtly than DA2 with NPC completely competent in both sides. All the country, all the Npc did not fall into madness. And human responsibility has not been obliterated by fantasies like a voodoo doll, or a mage ( Orsino ) becomes a villain because it's cool as a boss.
From Oblivion to Skyrim, Bethesda deepened its background, its lore, never disrespect what they have developed and written in the past. Without plotholes.
I am sure many people who have not even played Skyrim, are saying, DA2 has a better story. Why ? Simply because of reputation, because it's a bioware game. bioware game = better story than all the rpg, youhou.
That reputation to continue to survive, will need a quality work continuously, based on the present and future however.
Skyrim does not focus on the story as much as BioWare games, but many see a huge potential behind if only it was their priority.
So you can compare the two games as you wish, to try to give some freshness to DA2, but it is called for me to fail, given how the story of DA2 meant a problem for many people . More content for the story, does not automatically mean it is better.

I actually don't give a damn about Skyrim right now. This game is so buggy and laggy, won't even work on my PS3. It's either DA2 or something else for me.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed DA2. Legacy/MotA were well done. But all other major RPGs released in 2011 - TW2, DE:HR and especially Skyrim - were just better.

We seem to get a lot of them, but they would be better off on the CDProject, or Bethesda forums where they could praise their games, and leave us alone... unless they just like to come here to troll and dis DA2.

@ schalafi You forgot to mention that those who do not like Bethesda's games and the Witcher 2, are also among the first ones to mention those games on this forum, to try to give some freshness to DA2. ( Which fails miserably in my eyes ) They are also at fault.
And when we are talking about awards, it seems normal to me, that not everyone will choose DA2, and some will tell why they choose one game or another.
