COD MW3 is the worst of the call of duty games yet it sold the most copies out of all the call of duty games and i have played them all COD1 was better put together than MW3 so sales figures is no indicator of quality what is a good indicator of quality is the number of returns but since they arnt published its a mute point + how could they kill off Sgt Soap the evil meanies.

Oh and yaaaay Yrkonn's back I thought he'd kicked the bucket

Nothing like spam sprinting and glitch exploiting to get up a impossibly steep slope for screenies.

Best game ever :P

I'm a firm believer in exploitable glitches in games to make multiple playthroughs a unique experience. I NEVER use them or even look for them on a first playthrough personally, but subsequent playthroughs? Why not, right?

Don't forget there are always exceptions.

My stepbrothers to this day will not shut up about how pissed off they are there won't be a Shenmue 3.

I do agree on the MW3 point. I bought BF3 and MW3, yet I find myself going back to play MW2.

Faulty argument, since Torment was limited  in platform  (PC only).  And Movies are also limited due to  when they're released, how long they remain in theaters,  and their ratings, all of which affect ticket sales.

This would only be applicable if publishers could not choose what platforms they publish on. Super Mario Bros was constrained by platform, and so is Pokemon, yet I didn't see you arguing against these games as examples of exceedingly high quality translating to super high sales.

Because I didn't need to.  These games  had record sales inspite of their avaliablity limitations.  If Super Marrio Brothers had been avaliable for every platform, it would have likely sold 80 million units,  instead of  the 40 million it did sell.

I think there is some stat out there that says like 95% of COD players never play the single player game. I guess they keep making the multiplayer experience worth the purchase for their fanbase. I know because my brother, who had a lvl 40 multiplayer char on the last COD while I was visiting him last year had not even played the single player part of the game when I asked him if it was good or not. We're the exact opposite kind of gamers: I prefer Single Player expansive games, my brother prefers to pwn n00bs (that right?) and curse at the jerks in multiplayer .

You can still mold geralt into MANY different beliefs and ideals. He wil always have the same personality, but so will a DA2 character after you have picked the sarcastic response a little too many times.

I know this and I'm not knocking the franchise, which I enjoy, even though TW2 is messy and I haven't been able to finish it yet.

However I was explaining why I personally wouldn't like to see it win as RPG of the year, not over a game that gives more character freedom.  Whether you agree or not, for some people being only able to play a named character of one gender is a big hit to roleplay.  The spouse won't even play it because of this.  I like Geralt, but I'd still rather play a female character.  And please don't use Hawke as a comparison, that does not improve the case in my eyes.  lol

Opinion =/ facts.

BF3 is a **** game. Single player that sucks, scripted as hell, I.A dumb, story worse than black ops, graphics not as beautiful as people were told. And multiplayer with many bugs.

Bf3 will never beat CoD for me. That was a trap. And many people who thought that BF3 would kick the ass of Cod were disappointed and came back to CoD.

So you see ?

Point, missing it. Saying "constrained by platform" is a faulty argument, because the truly good games don't need it. If games like The Sims 2 and Super Mario Bros have proven that single-platform games don't need a crutch, there's no reason why games like PS:Torment and The Witcher 2 deserve to have one.

I agree. Hence my earlier statement that there are exceptions.

Its always down to opinion.

For example, I thought GTA IV was perfect, while my friend HATED it.

The game was universally acclaimed and sold incredibly well.

If Skyrim wasn't on that list would you agree with TW2 getting it?

I mean I personally view TW2 as the finest RPG I ever played, but I don't disagree with Skyrim winning it at all.

My point being i found MW3 Single player sooo bad i'd rather watch paint dry its worse than DAO for me and I'm sure many people know my feelings on that game I honestly found the SP mode in COD1( COD classic as its being marketed on XBL) more fun than MW3 but if i had to pick a MW title i enjoyed it was MW1

Fine.  No crutch needed.  Doesn't change the point.  The world has 6 billion people in it.  Poll them.  Ask them what  the best/greatest game is.  PS:T won't make it in the  top 10.  Super Mario Brothers  will.

Not saying it will. But by your own admitted logic, that makes DA2 better than The Witcher 2.

Its actually quite simple, a game where the chance of success in undertaking an action, and the degree of success you have when undertaking that action, are soley due to your character's abilities, for example having dodge %'s based on an agility attribute or w/e. A game like DA:2 where you can dodge attacks using player reflexes pushes more towards the action rpg end of the spectrum.

So all of the games in the best rpg category were action rpgs.

Yes. I wasn't saying action rpgs are a bad thing, just giving a definition.

Judging by what I know of the games, I could see TW2 winning it if Skyrim wasn't nominated.

When Bethesda make a TES game, there's really never going to be much competition for RPG based awards.
