Hi,

Could anyone please confirm if RDD toons can properly re-level without needing their abilities to be fixed? I understand it's an old subject, and I have read and heard so often that the class does need to be fixed after re-leveling, yet testing it in my mod reveals it's not the case, the abilities correctly return to their initial values. I've tested this with the server on, using nwnx and a few plugins, nwnx_funcs being among them, if it matters.

Thanks in advance.

It is possible to relevel certain RDDs without fixing abilities.  However, the main issue, I think, is when RDD ability bonuses are mixed with Great Ability feats causing the engine to no longer recognize where certain increases came from.  This can lead to a variety of outcomes if a level 10 RDD is deleveled.

There is also a specific sequece of leveling (not requiring greater ability feats), and re-lvling or de-leveling, that can cause the ability stats not getting reset properly.

Okay I found it.  Taking any non RDD class in between RDD levels 2 and 10 will cause the ability increases after the nonRDD class level to not be taken away with deleveling.

So one way to allow for RDD deleveling is to force the RDD to only level up in RDD from level 2 to level 10.

Sorry Whiz, I was not sure if I should publish it. There is actually another varriant on it too. I suspect this is one of the reasons PoA handles re-leveling the way they do.

Well if there is an SP work around (like deleveling a character a level if they take a non-RDD class after RDD level 2-9)  then you might want to share.  Some SP scripters may wish the deleveling feature, without create an unbalancing environment,  and given how powerful RDDs are, limiting their leveling functionality is not really that unbalancing.

Well for single player you can just use DebugMode 1 to set stats correctly after de-leveling if you want to not cheat. On Av3 what we have done for now, is to simply not allow RDD to use the re-leveler and exp bank. They require a DM for this service. A previous dev had developed a system to manually fix RDD stats after de-leveling, but I disabled this due to the exploit potential (it was not a forced option, but rather left to the descretion of the user, and also there are other complications now due to the current Av3 environment such as post 40 ability stat bonuses.)

I meant from an SP builders' point of view, (like should the scripter incorporate deleveling into a module).  Players of SP can alter the builder's intentions without problem by using commands like makesafe and dm_god.
