I thought BioWare not being at the head of the industry regarding running animations was a generally accepted rule of thumb? This is like complaining because the third-person animations in Skyrim are subpar to say the least.
we must have all forgotten that you actually play ME in first person.

Deep character development? Skyrim? Skyrim has it's qualities, but deep character development is not one of them.
They were talking about your character, in which there is a lot of developing.

Looks like Seth Green announced Zelda being inducted in the Video Game Hall of Fame.

Aaaaaand, the people on BSN are complaining. What a surprise.
Aaaaand the Bioware defense force is coming out of the cracks. What a surprise. The gameplay looked so scripted that itd be hard to imagine doing more than one playthrough.

Come on people - its the VGAs. This is not the time for story stuff or RPG stuff. Its about showing off your game as much as possible in the shortest time. Of course the trailer was going to be an action sequence - and a damn fine one I might add. Anyone expecting something else, or complaining about it, hasn't thought it through.

Well, I'm not one to whine but you'd expect animations to be on part with everything else in the game and they're not.JeffZero wrote...

That said, I know Bioware is busy with a lot of stuff but this is one of the things people who are new to the franchise complain most about (like when ME2 hit the PS3) so maybe they should actually try to improve it in a more significant way. Rolling seemed better in the las BW pulse episode though, so maybe this was an older build.

Not what I meant at all. I was drawing parallels to another commonly-accepted rule of thumb: that Bethesda fails at third-person animations and BioWare fails at animations in general. We play these games for another reason -- because they've got great characters and great stories along with them.
But then again, yeah, you're absolutely right in that I should only speak for myself. Play Mass Effect 3 for its running animation quality; hate the game all you want as it fails to deliver.

That's a great point, actually. If they're trying to win fans of other series and genres over, they should work on things that a lot of people who play shooters extensively would notice. This is one of them.
