Pretty sure they skipped A LOT on the trailer to show the action stuff. I'm sure in the final game there will be much more to the actual level. It looked a bit old too, was likely an old build.

Deep character development? Skyrim? Skyrim has it's qualities, but deep character development is not one of them.

I laughed out loud when I heard this.

Miyamoto has made the show thus far.

His intro was epic as well. The music, the fog, the huge ass emblem and him slowly walking out to all of that. Man's a legend.

Oh, extremely. I'd have said more about it but I'm resigned to accepting that I'd be drowned out by the complainers for the next couple of hours.

Very much so.  I hope we'll see more of that and space combat betweens the reapers and Turian/Human fleets like the end of ME.  Except bigger.

The only thing good about the trailer was that.

It gives the impression that when we are going to be in in fights like that we will have the feel of being part in a much larger battle.

Saddly, the trailer was beyond terrible.

Except for Feng vs Shepard, in which case you are correct, I would say Mass Effect actually rates pretty well with the character development when you compare between the party characters.

Aaaaand the Bioware defense force is coming out of the cracks. What a surprise. The gameplay looked so scripted that itd be hard to imagine doing more than one playthrough.

Um, excuse me, I don't come out of cracks. I fly through walls at speeds you can't even imagine. I break barriers from sound to light to defend the few games I'm actually impressed enough by to actually get into debates on the internet over. Don't compare me to the common zombie.

Either way, yeah. I didn't really mean it like I was putting Xenogears on a pedastal so much higher than Mass Effect. I was just bringing up two separate approaches to character development from two very different games I happen to love -- two games Skyrim really can't compare with in that regard.

Of course, Skyrim has its own strengths. Great strengths.
