What, you don't find 'drag select two dozen of your biggest tanks, click other side of map and hope your objective is along the way' pulse-pounding or electrifying?

Filament: Who writes those back-of-the-box descriptions, anyways? :P I'm sorry, but when was the last time any gamer in their right mind would describe a campaign as "electrifying" or "pulse-pounding"? Oh man, dat pulse...it's just...

My response remains the same: Pretty neat. Those descriptions still feel silly, though :P

Edit: Heh, bleetman beat me to it.

Well, no marketing speak is ever going to top "think like a General, fight like a Spartan" from DA2's campaign for sheer eye-rolling factor.

Intriguing, it'll be interesting to see how they handle a genre they've never done before. Plus I was a fan of the oirginal Generals game so yea. Hopefully they bring their trademark storytelling into this series.

I was focusing more on the political aspect of that bullet point than anything. I get enough jingoism everywhere else.

I was hoping it wouldn't be an RTS...they just aren't my type of games.

Still though I think it could be a pretty good game and I know that there aren't enough good RTS games being made these days.

Also I'm not looking forward to all the raging, butthurt and false sense of entitlement that people are going to get because of this...

PC only game that wont run on Win XP ?
How many copies do they want to sell ?

Hahaha this game is going to fail so hard ...

Yes, lets stick with an archaic 10 year old OS. -_-

Plenty of games have made the move to not supporting XP, which is necessary if you're going to use DIrectX 10 or 11.

Anyway, I actually really liked Generals back in the day so I'm intrigued. I just hope its still US, China and the GLA. It was so delightfully non politically correct, but I have a feeling they'll simply try to make this like Modern Warfare: The Strategy Game and have US, Russia and Russian terrorists or something.

Still don't understand why they're slapping the BioWare name on this though. Unless its an avenue for them to eventually make Mass Effect or Dragon Age strategy games.

A Succesful game trilogy taking an RTS spin-off direction? Nah, they'd never do that.

I feel like they're trying to make Bioware into EA's version of Blizzard.

With the way things have been going, I'd be more afraid they'll swap in North Korea for China. Although the original Generals wound up having China come out on top of the storyline (after Zero Hour), showing anything bad happening to or being done by China seems taboo lately.

So I wasn't the only one that thought of Startcraft when reading the description.

*snip*

I'd certainly be interested in how many of those computers are used for gaming.

Oh I know its still used tons by businesses, but I doubt those business computers are going to be doing any gaming any time soon. But for gaming? Look at the November 2011 Steam Hardware survey for a better look: only about 17% of people with Steam use XP.

I haven't played a C&C game since Red Alert 3 and haven't a serious C&C fan since Red Alert 2. Never played Generals, but I heard it was okay.

Nice to see the Command & Conquer franchise coming back.

Never played Generals.... though there is a Two pack of Generals and Zero Hour at the local electronics store, should probably give it a try.

I'm a bit mixed. First it's a sequel to Generals , yay, with the Frostbyte engine :D, but it's being done by Bioware and after the last C&C, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Ok guys. I wont argue with you about that.
If you really think that PC only game without XP support is going to make any decent sales .. just wait and see.
