I will only try this game if you can customize your character (and be female!) and if there's romance! I have never played a game from this series before so I don't know anything about these games... But to be honest I'm not excited at all for this.

We shall see...we shall see. I'm not thrilled by this news, but I'm not quite bringing out the pitchfork yet. I want some word on whether this studio has ANYTHING to do with BioWare Edmonton before I do that. Sadly, I don't think I'll ever get a real answer.

Be quite interesting if EA uses the same franchise to bury BioWare that it used to bury Westwood, however.

Perhaps you'll be able to make sweet, sweet love to your rocket launcher.

This is strange so they say three factions: the GLA, the EU (yay FTW) and one secret faction yet to be revealed......so where is the US....no US???....i cannot believe that....... surely is the US the secret faction....

Who needs Generals? Correct the mess that was the last Tiberium game! That was no way to send a legendary series into retirement.

F&CK YEAH!!!!!

C&C: Generals was one of the best RTSs ever made!

BIG KUDOS for BioWare for such a heroic effort!

Now everyone sing along with the music:

"EA Sucks, Big, Kock!"

If it has a soundtrack like it might be worth a look in after all.

To be honest i'm happy that they have kept ME series out of RTS. ME should be about single story and RPG and TPS elements...not RTS

EA canceling Tiberium ruffled some feathers. The linked 2008 article is interesting, not because of its content, but because of its comments - especially in the first couple of pages. There you can find people working in the industry at EA and other companies. Devs are/were that site's target audience, BTW. Too much inside information there to be brushed off as fans trolling EA. If only a fraction of that is true then EA is in a bigger mess than one would expect.

This is C&C. This is not BioWare, they're just using the name BioWare. It's a C&C game, nothing to see here if you are a classic BioWare fan, move on.

Most of the people working on this game are the ones who worked on past C&Cs. They just went under the name BioWare for some reason.

The most important question will Bioware stick to the great B level acting that provides me so much laughter?

Bioware has made games that are not rpgs. There first game was not even one.

But since when does Bioware reccomend such high high system specs!

Are you insane? BW has always required the next step up with every one of their games. It's becoming a real issue.

I would have been excited about the possibility of an RPG in the Command and Conquer universe. But as it sounds like a straight up RTS, I'm a little underwhelmed. I've played various C&Cs in the past so its possible I'll check this out. Probably depends on if I've got anything more interesting to play at the time. But for now its not even on my watch list.

However, if making a C&C RTS means Bioware get their RTS cravings out of their system and keep Mass Effect and Dragon Age firmly in the RPG genre, then ... YAY, can you do a non-ME, non-DA FPS as well please? :)

*Looks at Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchise*

Are you sure? Maybe back then can't remember since I was a child playing BG.

I upgraded my computer's graphics card for ME2. They like to jump to the next highest card for every new iteration in a franchise. I assume it's because they have the budget to, and I know I'll keep my 6950 for ME3 and DA3, but the pace they are going.... they might soon be a layman's CryTek.

I don't know about that Bryy. I can run ME2 on higher settings than I can ME1.

Shut your blue mouth, ME 1's optimization was sweet perfection.

Heathens aside, I don't think I'll play the game. I'm just here for the gay sex, after all.

Now I want to ask Bioware just one thing: enter the old EA vault, look for the shelves marked with a D, locate the Dune series, and grab the last product there: Dune Emperor.
That was the very last RTS EA shipped complete, as a whole, finished, without anything cut out to make some "expansion pack". Learn from how great THAT game was. Oh, and make a sequel please, also complete, finished, with nothing cut out. It certainly had potential for expansions, it didn't even need anything cut out from it to have that potential

That might not be such a bad idea. Live action cutscene with dialogue choses for the player it has never been done before! Need are remind you that there where love interest in Command and conquer games before e.g.:
time 0:50
time 1:30

And of course:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9p0QETuCws&feature=related time:0:50
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rrWZ5xYpNs&feature=related time 1.18

What i am worried about is that its a generals game which is modern with near future influences though in the trailer it looks more futuristic Tiberiums style tech.

Well if you check the past Bioware have been known to diversify and make games other then RPGs.  Still I take the hint that EA is throwing a lot of new studios under the Bioware label.

Anyway I've never played Generals and havent played a C&C game since Tiberium Wars.    Could be interested in this but I will wait and see.

Loved the Dune RTS games back in the day.  Would love to see them bring that style back after Generals 2 but they would probably have to work out a licensing deal with the IP owners to do that (plus the last few games tha used the Dune license did not turn out very well so that may give pause).
