Command & Conquer: Generals 2

Since reading that IGN article any doubts I had have been laid to rest. I'm an Xbox player, except when it comes to RTS games, so I'm glad its PC only. Frostbite 2 will make it look gorgeous and the destruction will be a massive bonus.
And on top of that the EU is included! I wonder if it'll be like EndWar where the UK isn't in it. And I really want to know what that final faction will be. It could be the US, or it could be China or perhaps even India. China was my favourite faction in Generals, particularly the nuclear General, so here's hoping they return.
So psyched for this - I'm almost as excited as I am for ME3, and I've only seen a glimpse of Generals 2.

It will be very difficult for CNC: Generals 2 to make it past this stigma, and if such a trend toward the game picks up most of your RTS players, either won't play it or admit to playing it. Should have advertised the game under the real dev and then added a note "A Sub division of Bioware."
Mercs would have been so much better and Biowares story telling ability would have worked so much better with the Merc, and maybe have the other ones plus another fem playing a role, and given the multifaction and far reaching actions of the Merc, it would have been a perfect fit, heck ME1-2 show Bioware can make a shooter and well we have the hammerhead and mako, so don't see why they can't make tanks and IFV's.
EDIT: What I mean is keep the China, Russia, US angle, add another Fem merc in to have four players, maybe have a few back up missions, or your other fellow mercs work other contracts, work friendships, even romances with them, and Bioware's writing, say you have a mission for the CIA to retrive a downed B2's Radar Unit, but as you get it the Chinese call and offer a large sum of cash for it. The fallout will be the CIA sends a team to "Teach you a leason" and the Chinese provide you with better airstrikes." Bioware could have fixed the crap that was Mercs 2, andmade a truely great game.
BUt noooo Ea that would make sense. And its not enough that you milked the Tiberian Sage into the ground with a ****** poor send off.
Then again maybe CNCG2 will be good. But well the BIoware stigma will be hard on it, and its sales. Then again maybe EA hopes that as justification to shut down all of its RTS operations.

Not buying.
Edit; And then also it'll probably only be available on Spyware R Us, and there's this thing called Starcraft 2.

I'm disappointed that the game is PC only. I wanted an RTS to play on consoles.
My impression has been that RTS games dont work on consoles due to the high level of control you have to exert.

I will only try this game if you can customize your character (and be female!) and if there's romance! I have never played a game from this series before so I don't know anything about these games... But to be honest I'm not excited at all for this.
Is that some kind of joke?

I used to enjoy the RTS genre, but nowadays my interest for it is gone.
Very un-Biowarish genre and franchise anyway. Between them going this way, Obsidian doing South Park, indie RPGs turning vaporware (see The Broken Hourglass), I guess after the promising first months of 2012 - Mass Effect 3, Risen 2, Kingdom of Amalur - there will be a long void without good RPGs to look forward to.

But since when does Bioware reccomend such high high system specs!
Are you insane? BW has always required the next step up with every one of their games. It's becoming a real issue.
Are you sure? Maybe back then can't remember since I was a child playing BG.
I upgraded my computer's graphics card for ME2. They like to jump to the next highest card for every new iteration in a franchise. I assume it's because they have the budget to, and I know I'll keep my 6950 for ME3 and DA3, but the pace they are going.... they might soon be a layman's CryTek.
I had a 9800GTX and didn't need to upgrade for Mass Effect 2 infact it ran much better than ME1 did. Dragon Age Origins I could max out easy and play it at 60fps almost all the time except in Denerim and a few areas. Also this won't be out till 2013 so by then I'm assuming the game won't be the resource hog Battlefield 3 is.

South Park from Obsidian SOUNDS great. Turn based combat especially just because it's based on a show some people may not like doesn't mean there will be no depth just watch any episode of South Park.

No, because this "new" Bioware studio, consists of people who did RA3 and the C&C4... The Bioware brand is only for good revievs and milking fans.

Not interested to it in the least, but hey- de gustibus and all that.
In any case, speaking of depth, I doubt it will be like Planescape: Torment or KOTOR2, two of Avellone's previous games. It sounds more like a "LOL parody RPG that mocks the usual tropes making abundant use of pop culture references and profanities" for casual gamers/the show's fans - a sort of RPG Scream in the South Park universe. Which could have its charm, I guess, but not for me.

At the end of Zero Hour China established the Eurasian Unity League - maybe thats what the EU is referring to in this case, and is a combination between Europe and China, in which case I suppose the US could be the third faction.
