thresher maw v reaper was cool but the lack of story and characters was a huge disappointment...the ME2 launch trailer was 100% better...
So why compare a launch trailer to a gameplay trailer three months before launch?

Or perhaps people are just upset that all trailers have basically being about the Reapers looking menacing.Someone With Mass wrote...
What I really love is how people are stunned that a game about a galactic war has combat and explosions in it.

Terrible trailer, just terrible.
I foreshadow that Bioware could give you a two hour trailer, and folks would still **** and complain.

Showing "RPG" elements may not yield any spoilers, depending on what "RPG" means to you anyway.Knight of Bronze wrote...
Would like to see some RPG elements? Yes, however bioware doesn't think they can do that without showing spoilers as well

Since there's two of the same forum, I guess I'll post here too.
It wasnt very Mass Effect. More of just a dirty shooter using sci fi as a backdrop. No spaciness, no strange world, no sleek shiny technology, no emphasis on lore and characters and mysterious conversations with synth beats getting your heart rate up, no fog horn sunrise at the end. On the bright side, it is a graphical improvement. Too bad it is all shooter perspective marketing so I can't see the worlds and people and cities that capture the Mass Effect universe where it started. Just a bunch of gritty world-in-flames scenes.

Trailer and gameplay footage aren't mutually exclusive.Bail_Darilar wrote...
I wasn't really a trailer though was it, it was more gameplay footage. Anyway it was awesome!

Have you played Gears of War? Because I played both ME3 (At Comic-Con) and Gears of War 3, and they are completely different games in terms of gamplay and direction. Even though the ME3 build we got to play at Comic-Con was an alpha it was still far different from the Gears play style and story. I really wish people would play the actual game first, before rendering judgment.FROST4584 wrote...

No, some people have the right to be let down. Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect 2 is a sign of things to come in the game industry . Notice how gaming has become so generic? This new trailer was just more of the same over the top action. Heck , it was even more of a reinforcement that Mass Effect 3 is a Gears Of War clone.

I know right. I'm still stunned by the number of people complaining though. And the speed with which they started complaining. If it wasn't so funny it'd be enough to make me leave this network.Someone With Mass wrote...

Dude. It's Tuchanka. That's about as much as you'll get on that rock.
