This isn't some anti-alien thread, but look at it. The humans seem to be the only species willing to get anything done in the galaxy. Maybe that's why the Protheans had their obsession with us.

Opinions?

Well yeah, it's all because You're character is human.

If ME had us playing as a Turian you know they'd be portrayed as the people who get sh*t done, same for every other race.

Humanity looks good because they lucked out and got the trilogy's protagonist as a member.

I wasn't really referencing Shepard.

But look at humanity: more turian casualities than human in the First Contact War, discovering mass relays on their own, etc.

@Grand Admiral Cheesecake: Not to mention that - all rumors to the contrary - ME was made by the same species that happens to be awesome in the trilogy.

Which - coincidentally is also the only one that actually exists.

So yeah - we're cool.

The newcomers are always more proactive.

But we have no evidence that the Protheans did not monitor other species just like they monitored us, do we?

Well - they clearly monitored the Hanar.

It's a shame they didn't play some pivotal role - seeing as they worship the Enkindlers and all. ((no, I have not read spoilers - so I don't know if they do in ME 3))

They didn't really do anything, the alliance denied the whole reaper threat like other species. Until it was too late.

Shepard and his/her crew are the best hope for the galaxy. And the truth of reapers that all will be able to see now. It will unify the galaxy under one banner.

Without spoiling the story at all, it is almost the opposite.

Earth is being destroyed by the Reapers. Without the help Shepard can collect around the galaxy from other races (or other human outposts), earth is doomed.

Well - I certainly hope the other alien races play an amazing role in saving Earth... so they can finally say.

"Are you done being hyper paranoid psychotics? Ready to act like a species of the future instead of the same stupid apes you started as?"

Alien Armada coming to save Earth with Shepard should shut Terra Firma up for good. Or at least give them something to think about.

Well earth is kind of small compared to the whole galaxy being doomed, and judging by the leaked script the climax to ME3 is not very impressive.

That will depend on what humanity will have to give them in return for the help.

That's being realistic. Or do you think the other races will sacrifice their ships and their people because they really like humans?

Maybe the Reapers just want to attack Earth so humans can shut up about being the galaxy's only hope? xP

I imagine they like not being Reaper chow.

Mhh. I wonder what will be the renegade path in M3 if we are forced to be with that script. I hope there will be choices and it will be different from parangon path.

Which brings me back to what we have to give them in return. In this case, making Earth the final battlefield will protect their own worlds.
And figthing the Reapers doesn't necessarely lead to Earth being saved. They could decide that the safest way is to destroy the Charon relay and hope the Reapers are too busy harvesting us to notice the explosion before it's too late.
