I sincerely doubt anyone will waste their forces protecting races that can't help much in the war like the hanar.hex23 wrote...
What do any of the aliens have to gain by helping each other? People keep saying "Earth is one planet, it's not important compared to the rest of the galaxy" but you could say that about any alien homeworld as well. No, they don't need to save the Earth to stop the Reapers but by that logic you probably wouldn't need to save most planets to stop the Reapers. This is the type of thinking that would doom the galaxy, if everyone sits back with their arms crossed like "what can you do for me if I help you?".
The reason we see Turian Figthers on Tuchanka is because krogans can be useful. It's not sitting with one's arms crossed, is looking out for your own species first.

Ya know, I can't think of a more lame tag line for ME3 than that.
Wondering if it's possible to let Earth burn while saving the rest of the galaxy...
Why would you do such a thing? There are only a few million humans off of Earth; that would be akin to just dooming the species to obscurity.
Well, yes and no. Humanity is the only reason we have a chance against the Reapers, but, in ME3 Shepard doesn't seem to be too vital just yet; he could call up his homeboy Liara to see if she can dig up some info to force the other species to cooperate, but I'm not sure how it all goes down just yet.

Actually the protheans are the reason any species have a chance against the reapers. Without them we wouldnt even know about the reapers until they came crashing through the Citadel relay. Their warnings and contributions will go long way in ultimately defeating the reapers.
Humanity did mostly ignore the threat even tough Shepard and his/her team tried to warn them, and the council. Blame the goddamn politicians, be it any race, they don't seem to change.

Because I'm tired of earth/human centric stories. This WAS a story about galactic annihilation but somewhere, somehow, it has become a story about saving earth. Old story is old.BlueMagitek wrote...

You mean genocide? No one on the BSN seems to have any problems with that anyway.BlueMagitek wrote...

Especially when you have constant demands for a character to be killable all the time just for people disliking said character.Quole wrote...

Don't worry, I can say from the leaks that it's still the war for the entire Galaxy. "Saving Earth" and "war for Earth" is just the marketing bs pandering to the focus groups.

It isn't earth centric; we've spent all of ME 1 & ME 2 off of Earth. The majority of our squad in ME 2 is non human. Oh no, we have to save the Earth, how horrible.

Its actually kind of funny. People always talk about how they want all the Batarians ect. to die out but most people seem to be against trivial things like; killing kids.HiroVoid wrote...

VGA trailer was sweet by the way.

And if the entire events that will soon take place in ME3 don't convince the racist Terra Firma Party, that their "humanity must stand alone" views are wrong. Then nothing ever will.Chris Priestly wrote...

Wait, revelation. Humans wrote Mass Effect! Go humans! We'll show those non-existing aliens!
If anyone finds the point of this thread, let me know.

So, ME3 is finally starting to look better than the dull shooter shown. Get rid of that backwater hole and maybe the Galaxy can have some peace.

This isn't some anti-alien thread, but look at it. The humans seem to be the only species willing to get anything done in the galaxy. Maybe that's why the Protheans had their obsession with us.
Opinions?
the Protheans had their obsession with us because we were evolving into Sentience
