Well, natch. This is BSN after all. But whereas I can see being neutral/not caring for a character, "hating" it/him/her is far too much work to be put into playing a video game.

I agree, I don't see the point in hating a character. There's a few characters that I dont really care for, but I don't hate them. That being said, the spoiler squadmates just sound like really dumb ideas. If I'm getting an AI squadmate, it better be Legion.

If someone had said "LOL A GETH JOINS YOUR TEAM IN MASS EFFECT 2" after only playing the first game you'd probably be like "lolwut RAGERAGERAGERAGERAGE." So please, play the game and THEN hate the characters. Preconceptions are bad...

Take me for example. I saw my friend playing Mass 2 before I did, and I thought I'd hate Jack but like Miranda. Now that I've played the game 16 times, Miranda needs to go back in time and die on Virmire, and Jack needs to be Sheploo's cuddlebutt forever. So there you go.

So true. My first real introduction to the Mass Effect series was actually a commercial for ME 2. It was Grunt (I later realized this, after some 7 playthrus) saying "I like fighting. It's what I do." I thought to myself "This must be a bad guy for the game". Grunt? a BAD guy?!

Then reading up on companions, I found Garrus was of the same race as Saren. I'm supposed to trust him?

Then I actually PLAYED Mass Effect. Found that I actually Liked Wrex, so when I got to ME 2, I went looking for Grunt. Also found out that Garrus was one of two that stayed with you, so I got to like him.....


As for Legion, I just wanted to see if it was an OK companion.  Liked him immediately.

Yeah, and the explanations given as to how it can adapt are far-fetched to say the least. And that's just the few things explained, there's a ton more issues with it that they'll never address, just like how we were supposed to believe that Shepard was rebuilt with Lazarus despite obvious holes.

At least Lazarus could be moved on from, but a guy in your squad is different...

Id replace Garrus with Legion. I have a feeling he's gonna have a side mission or 2 but not be perm like some of the others.

Id take Kasumi instead of Tali, liked her personality better, and then Id replace grunt with wrex. Well if it was ME2. XD Grunt was ok but I really didnt use him much in 2.

Yeah I'm not excited about them either. And I doubt they'd give a female turian, since we already have Garrus. But I have no guesses as to who it is.
