Although you do find the occasional dev who throws you a bone every time he can like Brenon Holmes (even given the restrictions Marketing and Branding, I'm sure, impose on him). It's funny....even the DAO team went out of their way to make a WHOLE trailer dedicated to pause and play combat because it was such a big concern...and it was basically done just for the core audience. Why not do the same for ME3's non-combat features??

They will likely start showing a crap load of videos closer to release or around the demo comes out (which is most likely) since they released plenty of ME2 videos like 2 months before ME2 was going to be released. Although I doubt they were going to show any real trailers dedicated to the pure role playing crowd during the VGAs. Probably later this month or next month.

Yeah, but ME3's marketing is "full combat", it has been a year since ME3 was announced and everything they showed was that, just combat. It's ok for some people, but that same people can't understand that there are people who wants to see if the game was improved in EVERY aspect and not only combat.

Good catch on my nick :)

Why would Bioware possibly market Mass Effect 3 to me? I already bought it.

Besides, I like my action games to have decent actions in them. Mass Effect was never Myst or Sim City. It was always a TPS.

I wouldn't treat my fans in an "I'm pretty certain I have your purchase, so you no longer get the fan experience we gave before during pre-release cycles. You just aren't that important for us to excite. Enjoy the game months from now, though. Your blind faith now will lead you to a great and pretty recognizable experience then."

Why would they market it to you? Because they should be just as interested in both rewarding your support and loyalty of their marketing and releases, as well as maintaining your attention to be worth continued support and excitement with their brand. Potential new buyers are good, a community that loves your project is very good.

What Im gathering from the arguments of the OP is that he's afraid that the hub worlds will be removed.

No. I am aware they are in the game.

The tone of the released footage does not show that even some will be there in the same tones as the previous ME universe exploration and story, but it kind of has to be, since it's, y'know... Mass Effect. Not every-place-you-land-is-a-battlefield-and-a-firefight-that-is-being-evacuated Effect, though some people talk as if it will indeed be endless war camps and firefights, thus all our trailers being combat.

BioWare have mentioned not all places are currently in active war or attacks when you visit, right? I'd sure like to see an idea of what's going on in those places.

If I had to Hazard a guess on what the places are like when you first visit them, I'd assume it'd be like (to use a Bioware example)  Redcliffe, where they're preparing for war, and then dependant on your reactions to what's going on, it could either be saved, tarnished, or destroyed (think Fable III with it's year to date time progression system in the game).

So what did we see before the ME2 release? The Thane RM, the Garrus RM, the class vids, some cinematics from other scenes and some stuff from Horizon. IIRC, there was no trailer, specifically about the Tuchanka hub either or about the citadel. Granted, we saw Nasana Dantius, which indicated a cameo of some ME1 characters but we didn't even see any of the main ME1 characters (including Garrus and Tali) until very shortly before release (I think Garrus showed up in Novemer or December 2009 for the first time, right?)
So now, we even already saw most of the old blokes (Garrus, Liara, Mordin, Legion...) as well as the Normandy redesign, etc., etc. It's way more info as we had on ME2 at this stage IMO.
An frankly, I personally am quite happy that they hold back on that kind of info pre-release. It was too much for ME2 and right now, I am quite happy for them to show flashy combat scenes and keep the substance for playing the real thing.

exactly, but some people have been unintentionally exposed to the spoilers, so watching the trailers wont mislead them that much. but what i would like to see is a completely, cinematic trailer of ME3, with no gameplay footage/cutscenes etc.
