So you could just pick one of the old styles and I could pick a new one :P

Everyone wins.

Except for the guy that has to make the new hair, I guess. Oh well. It's a living.

The more I think about it the more I want an MShep with long hair and a scraggly beard - make it look like he's been locked away for a year or something.

Didn't he just get arrested? So there is a bit of precidence for him to be mad at society.

If your impling that by getting arrested and let your life go... I don't understand.

@Flytch : Male Shep and FemShep are treated exactly the same save love interests and who they flirt with. I don't see why hair length would be any different. It's not like new default FemShep has it tied back or sensible looking. It's just waving in the wind. I want equality damnit.

I think it's more that by getting arrested (and the way he was treated in ME2) Shep might want to say FU to the alliance by growing his hair out.

I knew what he meant but, the idea I'm going to act like a kid and not cooperate is not like shepard. Or at least like mine.

...No offense but did you play ME1? Some of the things Shep can say to the council are extremely childish. Especially the "I'm calling to hang up!" game. :D

I would never be able to take a shep with long hair seriously as a soldier. That sh*t is going to get caught in something and get him killed.

@toby: Then don't give your Shep long hair.

I can't take plenty of things seriously in ME and I'm not even given an option (or I have to pay for said option).

Of course I did many times. Maybe u chose renegade. The idea of wasting your self for petty IMO is pathetic. And that in its entirety even though I don't have a problem with Bioware if they allow long hair, does not justify its reasoning. I could understand if he was a P.O.W. but the Alliance in my IMO allowing Shepard to waste himself before or during trial is highly unlikely. Military Prisons aren't 5 star hotels, their probably tougher than max-sec prions too.

..how is giving him longer hair wasting himself more than pissing off the council? I'd say the later was far more detrimental.

Not to mention. Leaked Beta. Shep's getting "loose around the edges." because of his food intake :P (If Anderson's word is any indication Shep examing his stomach after Anderson said that was hysterical). Plus if he's in prison and in that bad of a condition why would he give a damn about cutting his hair?

One of the many reasons it wouldn't work. Even for women their hair is regulated. Now your probably going to say well look at Miranda or Ash in ME3 I don't know I can't explain why they chose long hair. But I hope its within regulations.

As a United States Marine I say "No." <_<

Kinda surprised people are even thinking this. Might as well have Shepard get a tattoo on his face for the hell of it a lá Dragon Age. Makes no sense for a military officer to walk around with a tattoo on his face, but hell why not? I want a Biker Shepard, not a Commander Shepard. Of maybe a Shepard with freckles, glasses, and braces. I want a Nerd Shepard. Lipstick, nail coloring, eyeshadow = Transvestite Shepard.

Since I know sarcasm can't be translated over the internet here's the point I'm making: You're playing a military officer. Someone with the extreme discipline and self-control to command others to Hell and back, somebody who commands respect through both his/her appearance and actions. Not a hippy, not a biker, not a nerd, not a transvestite. If you want long hair request it for the next game, but currently my only answer to this is "No."

Every military member has to be presentable and not look like a thug.  The fatty food is a joke right? He just said it was horrible food.

*stares at renedouche Shep*

Uh...that ship sailed a LONG time ago.

@Oblivious: Uh...you see that picture of Vega? He has a clear tattoo on his neck. Pretty sure the alliance doesn't give a damn. A long hair can be perfectly presentable. It does not have to be ugly and dirty. (frankly it'd be bleh if it was). Long hair does not stop grooming.

You seriously telling me Shep's appearence matters more than his attitude towards his superiors?

I mean if we're gonna use the "well in the real military." arguement renedouche would probably spend most of his time getting reprimanded. This is a video game where Renedouche being douchey to everyone is perfectly acceptable save them complaining about it and otherwise doing nothing to discipline him. I don't see why long hair would be otherwise.

Plus this can all be avoided by not giving your Shep long hair. Like the "why is he such a douche and no one does anything about it?" can be avoided by not having your Shep act like renedouche.

No I never said that and you never brought up attitude. It's like going for a job interview are you going to come show up looking like you just got up or look presentable and professional.

So you're telling me you can't look presentable and professional with long hair?

Shep having long hair =/= it being ugly stringy and all infront of his face. He could just as easily pull it into a ponytail and keep it well brushed, clean and out of his face.

Because clearly ME standards are different from our militaries. (after all default FemShep has her hair in her eyes and I'm pretty sure gender or not that's a no no in today's militaries) Thus there's a chance their hair standards are also different. (Nevermind that Shep can be a Spectre rendering the whole thing moot).

What do you want form me? I'm using the military protocol scenario here, not civilian. You are obviously pro and I'm not. I think its better if I just end it.  And another thing I cant have a effecient conversation if you keep editing it at the last second.
