I've been looking around and nothing seems to work, many has it on Therum, but i have it on Noveria. Just as i enter Peak 15 after driving the Mako, the texture on Shepard, squad mates, interactable crates, enemies and crates which can be destroyed turns black as if the texture is removed. I can't find any solution for this anywhere so i was hoping someone here coud help me, I've deleted the Local Cache and it didn't help, turning down graphics didn't help either
someone else have this on Noveria and found a fix?

Complete specs would help us diagnose this issue. Refer to this thread for the type of info we need.

Did you use the repair button and 'delete local shader cache' in the configuration utility? If you don't have a repair button in the configuration utility, open it in Windows XP compatible mode.

I've had this exact same problem. I'm running the game on AMD FX6100, HD6790, 8gb DDR3 Ram, Windows 7 Pro x64. I've tried using the delete local shader button (with and without administrator rights, in normal mode, XP sp2 mode, sp3 mode and in Win7 mode), the button has no reaction and I still have missing textures as soon as I approach Peak 15. I tried playing on to see if the textures came back but they didn't, even after a cut-scene.

I now appear to have the same problem with missing planet surface textures on Therum. Have tried moving around, as I'm forced to drive through some totally black parts of the surface, but I guess there must be some type of obstacle that I can't see (due to the missing textures) as sooner or later the vehicle takes critical damage and my game ends. Whole blocks of the surface terrain are missing, and since I need to navigate the canyon to reach the refinery I appear to be stuck.
Only just hit this problem and started looking for a solution so will continue on through the forum, but if anyone has the solution already, would appreciate knowing it. TIA!

Many owners of PCs with "FX" series AMD processors experience a similar effect, and some of the system designers have been made aware that it's tied to this one series of CPUs.

For GROUND turning to black, when it should be flowing lava with narrow paths between pools, do a rhorough search, and be sure you are patched.

Thanks for that. I'm actually running on a machine that's heading towards four years old, but it was built with the leading edge for everything at the time. Running an Intel extreme chip 9650, along with an Nvidia 9800 GX2 graphics. I did have two of these running in SLi, so quad set-up, but one of them finally died of too much heat a couple of months ago. I'll check out the link now, thanks!

I've kept visiting here long past remembering everything I ran into while playing, but right when the game was new, before the Social Site was made, there were planet surfaces, and Therun may have been one, that had intensely hot lava that would show up black.
Use Google, Yahoo, Bing, whatever, with very specifc search criteria and add this:

Edit: Never mind. I posted a bug fix that I already posted in this thread four months ago.
