Beldin is a persistent world set in the northwestern corner of the Forgotten Realms—west of Luskan and south of the Spine of the World. The city of Beldin stands at the mouth of the Karen River, called on some old maps of Fearun the "Iceflow", and has struggled for existence against the dangers of the north since its founding. Often it has survived only by the aid of the adventurers it recruits from far and wide. All are welcome--a city in desperate straits can't very well be too picky.
Though it is listed under the Roleplay category of Gamespy, Beldin is a heavily story driven world with daily DM'ed quests. Player actions shape the course of events in the kingdom, as power and lands change hands and dire threats loom in the north. Beldin is best suited to players who like to play through long campaigns focusing on a few characters, the style of play being closer to Pen and Paper than casual persistent world roleplaying.
Beldin features:
- daily DM events
- Extensively developed history and lore (Beldin was a NWN1 world transferred over as soon as NWN2 came out)
- a custom crafting system, closer to pen and paper D&D crafting rules
- moderate magic (no weapons over +5, and limited weapon/item abilities)
- no character or class restrictions--we just ask that you run Yuan-Ti character ideas by a DM first for approval due to the oddity of that race
- no tweaks made to the standard classes or races, they are as comes with the game
- quest based experience gain
- moderate roleplaying (talking OOC is allowed with proper designation, though the emphasis is on roleplay)
- Full PvP, for roleplaying reasons. We do not encourage PvP for the sake of it.
- Permadeath, for roleplaying reasons and believability. It is very rare, but sometimes, even in magical fantasy realms, people die.
- level range of 1-25, with a soft cap of 20 (advancement beyond that is significantly slower)
- A small but welcoming player base
- No memorization of reams of lore or D&D knowledge required
- Autodownloader compatible, so you don't have to track down files to log in
- Our own custom armor, clothing, and weapons, as well as custom content from the NW Vault. No custom races or classes.

New campaign announcement: Shadows of War
Timing: 9:30 PM US central time (Monday to Sunday)
The valley is on the brink of war once more. Armies prepare and march to the north to confront the returning forces of Malark, while desperatly holding his blight spell at bay. Yet perhaps the greatest threat to the kingdoms of the Karen comes from within their own borders....
Far in the south, a small group of knights and adventurers has found signs of an enemy all too familiar. An enemy more ancient than men or elves. An enemy with one purpose: to destroy the world of mortals and gods.
In the looming shadow of war, adventurers of the Karen must race against time to stop this enemies plans before it can strike at the kingdom while its armies are away. Join them in their quest! The fate of the north lies in your hands...

New campaign announcement: Northern Invasion
Timing: 9:00 PM US central time (Monday to Sunday)
Starting December 26th, and running until at least January 4th (probably not hosting New Years Eve)
The troubles in the south having been dealt with for the time being, all eyes in the Karen Valley turned to the north (metaphorically, of course), where the forces of Malark, the Tyrant, had long been gathering. The Knights of Astrid had been holding the line against the dark army, but they had not been able to find a way to stop the slow southward movement of the shadow-cloud which gave Malark's army shelter, and withered the land as it came. And so the forces of Beldin stood at the ready, recruiting all those able to wield a weapon, to aid in the defense of the Northern Kingdom. . .
