Is there anyway to keep allistar alive? I did the ritual with morrigan and I didnt bring allistar with me up to the tower yet he died... How can I save him!

Was morrigan with you in the fight? I think she has to be there.. if not then it glitched. I had Alistair, Morrigan, Wynne and myself.. I got the killing blow and both Alistair and I lived happily ever after skipping tra, la through the world fighting darkspawn.

He shouldn't die unless it was decided prior to the fight. If you don't allow Morrigan to do the ritual, you and Alistair argue on who makes the killing blow.

I think there are occasionally some bugs with the epilogue text.

What did the epilogue say? The only way I know that he dies is either by doing the killing blow without the ritual or you let Anora do her thing and let him be executed.

Well when I said that i wanted to have a statue built in memory of the grey wardens the queen mentioned that it would be built in memories of those who have fallen like allistar and he wasnt in the congregation of my companions...

Are you running mods or have you been using debug commands? Some of these screw with things poorly.

if you didn't have morrigan with you. This will occur. She has to be present with you for the ritual to succeed. Which is why I made sure she was one of my main chars, and my romance seeing as how as I noticed this tidbit reading some walkthrough spoilers prior to the game's release. lol.

Morrgan does not have to be with you for it to work.



On my first play through I did 3 of the endings from various save points. I die, Aliister dies, or Morgan gets a kid and we both live. At no point was she in my party for any of these endings. In the first 2 I get a Dialog on who will kill the dragon, in the third the main char does it automatically.

I think it must be a bug with the epilogue text. Because only the person that makes the killing blow dies.

Eh, just seems like a bug in the ending text. Tell yourself that the two of you lived and went on to kill darkspawn for many years, until you both had to go kill yourself in the Deep Roads.
