I've recently gotten back into NWN 1 & 2 (thanks to GoG and Steam) and I'm currently playing the original OC, SoU and HotU. I'll also be creating a new character for the NWN2's OC's when I'm done with this. What I'd like to do is to convert these characters to NWN2 characters once I've finished those NWN1 campaign's. I was wondering if anyone has designed modules specifically tailored for the "Hero of Neverwinter" and the hero of the SoU and HotU expansions?

I haven't seen any like that. I know there are a few for epic level charactes, but they do not have any story line connection to the NWN1 OC or SOU or HotU. Trial and Terror is one epic level mod that comes to mind.

It would be a good idea though. And a little tool to import the character. A lot of work I imagine but I'm surprised no one ever thought of doing it.

You could write down everything you've got and remake your PC using Vordans Hero Creator ( in the modules area on the vault ). You need to create a new character first then load up the module, give yourself a few million gold, xp, go shopping and craft the weapons etc.

There is a way of changing NPC's into PC's ( I've done it for a bit of amusement when testing one of my modules ) but I've forgotten what it's called, it might be the GFF editor but don't quote me on it ! That way you could make your PC with everything in the toolset and "beam" him into the local vault folder of your NWN2 game.

As for direct swaps though I don't think one exists.

many of the campaign are meant for new character and not the same character than the old one.

SOU+ HTOU works toguether

NWN2 OC+ MOTB works together

The others are stand alone. (NWN OC, SOZ, MOW...)

Thanks for the input. It was just a thought. I'll still convert my NWN1 characters and use them. I certainly don't have to use them only in modules that continue their story so to speak. I think I was remembering the few NWN1 modules that were continuation's of the original story line's, particularly the Aribeth's Revival series.

having a lvl 20 char when you are supposed to be lvl 1 can only destroy your fun.

In terms of story, sure. In terms of carrying over your PC, there's an issue in that the rules are sufficiently different that you'd almost certainly have issues. If you wanted to convert a human L1 fighter with only, say, Knockdown and Power Attack as his feats, you could do that just fine, but when you get into the realms of different spells, feats, skills, races, subraces, class changes, and then mechanics like DR, it starts to get pretty messy.

I think some of you missunderstand. I'm not going to use 20th level characters in 1st level NWN2 modules. I'll make NEW characters for those. The point was to have those high level NWN1 characters available to me in NWN2 for high level modules. I'm also aware that changes will have to be made when converting from NWN's 3.0 to 3.5. Particularly if I go over 30 levels in NWN1. That won't be much of an issue, really. If I remember correctly, you can only get to around 25th level at the end of Hordes.

In terms of a 30th level build, I'll change my Fighter12/Rogue11/Weapon Master7 (NWN1 OC) to
Fighter12/Rogue6/Elite Commando5/Weapon Master7 since NWN2 allows me to redesign him much closer to what I had in mind as a concept.

I think no one continued the story of the nwn1 characters for a few reasons.

The OC story was not very good, imo of course.
SoU officially continued into Hotu, so you'd be competing with official content
Hotu ends at very high level, near the level cap of nwn2. Such high level limits story opportunities, it's difficult to tell a good one at that level. And the player would already be very close to the level cap so the fun of levelling and getting new loot would be minimalized.

If you're a module player, you can forget about epic levels. There are VERY few that reach those (like, two that I know of), the vast majority don't go past level 10 or so (many end earlier). There are some where you can reach 15 or even 18-20, but those are few too.
