I would very much rather have nudity and even *gasp, the childrens!* sexual content in my video games than the, IMO, immature Sam Raimi-style (and he meant it as a JOKE, not as "dark") blood sprays and severed limbs.
Murder, rape, children being killed, genocide, racism, tax fraud, religion... mature people can handle difficult and even societally unacceptable conduct inside of stories, movies and games. The above list (well, okay, I'm being a bit disengenuous with religion... or am I?) are things that we generally, as a rule, find "wrong" or "bad" in society. But without the conflict of such negatives to strive against, mature and thought provoking media would be stymied and left impotent. Every story, game and movie doesn't need to have murder or racism in them, but the ones that do should be taken as an overall product, in context, and not judged solely on content.
Nudity is not wrong. Sex is not wrong.
Killing is.
I know it's an OLD argument that never goes anywhere, especialy with certain religious types, but how can one which is almost never negative be considered "bad" while the other, which is rarely ever "good", is considered fair game?
It is my strongly held belief that those who call others losers or perverts simply because they can handle nudity or sexual content are they, themselves, compensating for something. Their own fears, prejudices, inadequacies, ignorance... I don't claim to know what... but I can freely choose, myself, that games like Manhunt or GTA are grotesque to me and therefore I won't play them WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY acccepting that others enjoy such games are NOT maladjusted for doing so.
