That trailer was freaking awesome. I didn't know the battle system was gonna be like Kingdom Hearts. I definitely need a PS3 now.

There are some rumors of a 360 release. Honestly I don't think XIII-2 will be all that bad. Sure we only have 2 playable characters but everything else in the game looks to make up for that fact. (Though I am a little dissapointed that Light most likely won't be a permanent playable)

I believe that Square-Enix has been working on this since 2003 and only now are they in full production.

I thought that was the case for XIII, and not Versus XIII? Either way, you're probably right. I just wonder about that is all because VsXIII's creator made quite a few games from then to now in that time.

vsXIII is going to be my last attempt to enjoy a FF game, after the atrocity which was FFXIII (which was ok for an RPG, but not worthy of the FF name, I cleared it 100%, so you can't accuse me of not giving it a chance )

It looks good, but the term development hell seems fitting. They postponed it to make XIII-2 but now hopefully they can make it. I just want it to come out cause SE said they will start KH3 after they finish VSXIII and I WANT KH3.

Same, though KH3D looks really promising as of late. Actually I think it's exactly KHDDD that's postponing VsXIII, since XIII-2 is being done by a different team within SE.

oic. Well either way, sine they talked about using VSXIII's combat and what not for KH3 maybe they can be sister projects. That'd be cool, get it out faster.

Actually Versus XIII uses Kingdom Heart's combat, not the other way around.

Okay, so the only way this game will Pique my interest is if you can switch the character you control and if it has a female character that is a warrior kind of character.

Meh... I don't anything special about it(except the soundtrack, that was badass) plus it's really old now. I'm more excited for FFXIII-2 since that game is coming out soon. I REALLY hope this game will live up to it's RIDICULOUS amount of hype. also I hate how people say that this game will save the franchise and they know next to nothing about the game. hey look SHOOTING and NO ONE is complaining.... I wonder why????.lol.(i want this game too but people should let SE have as much time as they need to make the game, ok?)

Shooting has always been a game mechanic of FF...I don't get what your after. As for timeframe, I'm in no rush, however I am saying this is the last chance I am giving SE to save the franchise, not to be redundant but FFXIII was an atrocity against the FF namesake, and I have had serious doubts about where they are going...I didn't even like FFXII that much but I grew some acceptance of it after playing FFXIII which was so far from what the first 10 games were centralized around. I won't restate everything I've said 1001 times on SE Members.

I cosign this powerful post. Like I said before Square went from FFVI, Chrono Trigger, and Xenogears to FFXIII....it's a damn shame

I don't think Square will ever recapture the magic. A lot of the great creative talents left long ago..The creator of the series, Hironobu Sakaguchi, left. Most of the team that created Xenogears went to form Monolith and are now releasing Xenoblade in the US. Even the two great composers Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda responsible for creating some of the greatest game music ever left.

Hmph.  This thing has been in development since the end of the Ice Age.  I'll believe in its existence when there's an actual, physical game in my hands.  Until then, it's a mythical being not unlike the unicorn in my eyes.

I'm both with you and torn at the same time because it looks AMAZING.  I also really  like Tetsuya Nomura ( I know I know that it's not a popular viewpoint amongst Final Fantasy afficianados, but there it is).  STILL.  I loved, loved, loved the fact that we had three (yes, I count Vanille) kick butt girl characters who were just really well done.  And then there was Sazh.  SAZH!  Sazh who wasn't a complete and total cariacture...

But...yeah, I feel you RPGamer13.  Yeah, I totally do.

Lightning type character or bust huh? That would be kind of cool but I doubt it.

No, Fang type character or bust.  Fang is actually stronger than Lightning.  Lightning is more of a Red Mage type character.

In Physical attack power the top three in order are: Fang, Snow, Lightning.

Weapons:
Snow: 1020 (but this one has Paper Tiger which makes him take more damage, the next best one is 925 and has no detrimental effects)
Fang: 962
Lightning: 750

Taken from the stats outlined in the official strategy guide, I compared it to my current stats in the game and these are very accurate:
Fang: 2036
Snow: 1718
Lightning: 1560
