Please don't turn this thread into a MLP discussion.

I said I had no intention of making it go too off topic, I also have no intention of making it into an MLP discussion..

As a KH fan this game is looking promising, though I think people are putting too many hopes on it.

I'm with Eternal Ambiguity, I wouldn't get excited until a release date is near.

MONOLITH MAKING NEW GAME = ME INTERESTED

Xenosaga is probably one of my all time favorite JRPGs....and probably the most twisted at some points (definitely most bat-poop-insane antihero...minor spoiler -youtube the Albedo and Momo scene if you want be disturbed, although I recommend playing the game to experience it in its true horror)

I'm definitely going to look into Xenoblade, quality JRPGs are my thing.

Well, it's not new.  It's already out in Japan and Europe, we just didn't know if we were getting it in NA.  It looked bleak for the longest time.

Glad to hear it is coming over here and it's for the Wii.

Xenoblade is ace, I can't believe you Americans are only just getting it. The Last Story is looking to be pretty good too.

Was I derailing it that much, Sorry.Won't do it again.

Anyways, I do have hopes this will go back to what I liked about FF series; exploration, combat, story, and level grinds. Then I will play it.

Ah level grinding. Fun in the right game but it always gets monotonous at some point.

It'll be interesting to see how Noctis rises as a Final Fantasy protagonist. He'll have a personality that hasn't been displayed yet in the series. Man, I have to say that it is STILL taking quite a while for the game. It was announced at E3 2006. No release date yet...we shall see.

I'll chalk up it's delay to the game director being busy with various Kingdom Hearts and other Final Fantasy games.

His personality seems to be simliar to Cloud's but with a sense of humor. which already makes him better than Cloud.

If he's a moody character then Yuri Lowenthal would be good to cast as his English VA.

Ew, no.  I hate Yuri Lowenthal and Nolan North is getting annoying, those two are in EVERYTHING.  Though I'm glad Troy Baker is getting more exposure.

I know.  I bet it's because Namco-Bandai are greedy and don't want to take a chance, and yet they release the Dynasty Warrior Gundam games.

Of which I haven't bought any of them because Rain and Allenby aren't pilots, what the deuce?

Not to derail the thread, but they are also pissing me off with withholding Tales games.  I was looking forward to Tales of Hearts, I was going to get both the anime and the CGI version.  And then I was going to buy Radiant Mythology 2.

Troy Baker would be another great choice. Which reminds me, I need to make a caucasian in Saints Row:The Third and use his voice.

Lets only hope that somehow they take the many negative responses on FFXIII to heart and do a better job on future releases.

[/quote]

Or release a DLC where you can play as Kefka annihilating the entire cruddy cast of FFXIII

My reply was a biting remark and not to be taken literally (perhaps). Do you know who Kefka is?! Square hasn't been good since the PSX days.

yes sir, when it originally came out it turned into 3.

The fact that JPN's 3 never came to US and that 4 became 2, for that also not being released otuside of JPN.

No, it was VI, not V.

This should give you an idea:

FFI - Out in US and Japan
FFII- Japan only
FFIII- Japan only
FFIV- US and Japan, known as FFII in the US
FFV- Japan only
FFVI- US and Japan- Known as FFIII in the US
FFVII- Worldwide onwards, stayed with the Japan's numbering for all regions.

We Europeans didn't get FF untill FFVII. =]

FF V was released in the US during the PSX heyday under FF Anthology or Collection I believe. Had a copy

FFV had the job system and it was FFVI (Japan) that introduced Terra, Locke, Kefka, etc...

I wouldn't mind seeing a modified job system implemented into upcoming FFs. I'm sorta wishing that Square would release more titles and also branch out more like they did during their heyday 90s. They had great scrolling shooter (Einhander), a great srpg (Tactics), along with other great ips (Mana series, Chrono, Xenogears, Super Mario rpg, etc..)
